Not quite. The Heritage foundation tweeted "Conservatives have to lead the way in restoring sex to its true purpose and ending recreational sex and senseless use of birth control pills".
 
Haley would not bend the knee like Vance. She’s not loyal to Trump. Saying she’d vote for Trump allows her to stay in the Republican Party and not cast out into the shadows by dictator Trump like Romney, Cheney et al.

The ‘pro-life is just defending against murder’ viewpoint doesn’t jive with project 2025 bullet points on abortion, emergency contraception, and birth control. Not to mention enforcement of the Comstack Act to prosecute those who receive contraceptives. Vance has endorsed the author of project 2025.

If that was really the case, then I would think pro-life people would do everything in their power to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place. Things like comprehensive sex education, easy access to birth control, subsidized long-acting reversible contraception like what they opposed to Colorado. But they aren't, so it isn't.

There is a cohort of the pro life movement that is extreme. But the vast majority of pro life individuals are not against contraception and in-vitro fertilization.

All these things exist in places like California yet the abortion numbers there, even before 2022, are over 800,000/year.

If you are pro-life and still value IVF, there's definitely reason to be concerned.

Can you name me any other medical procedure where you are approved or denied based upon the wellbeing of another?
Blood transfusion? Kidney transplant? Bone marrow donation? Should we force people to have those procedures done in order to save the lives of others?

Ironically enough, we may see the bombs on camels thing play out if Kelly is the pick considering Trump's current senior advisor is the guy who invented the swiftboat attack on Kerry.
 
Somehow pro-life only applies before birth? Where is the support for children, the mentally ill, people with disabilities, homeless, or other groups that are vulnerable? The pro-life movement claims the moral high ground, when in reality it's used as a pawn by the Republican Party which then proceeds to cut funding for the limited social supports we have. Please tell me what is being achieved by cutting Children's programs like CHIP?

Even better, if you get in a car accident and a 4 week pregnant women has a miscarriage, should you be tried for involuntary manslaughter?

What about if your pregnant wife is anemic, should you, as the father, be required to give blood to save their lives?

What if you are a technician at the IVF center and you drop a vial of embryos? Is that murder? Is that the same as dropping a baby?

Trump should have chosen Nikki Haley as his VP. JD Vance is not helping in anything; he is actually hurting Trump.

Medicaid isn't CHIP, which isn't food stamps. I've been on all 3. I have never eaten better than when on those programs. We got so much money we didn't know what to do with it. It needs a major overhaul as we are spending way too much on those programs. Also, the purpose of these programs were to get people back on their feet, not to be life long users.

Sounds like you were on it long enough to get back on your feet?

Best way is to increase the minimum wage. Walmart can pay $7 per hour, because welfare fills in the gaps.

See what happens when you raise minimum wage to $20. Then wean people off welfare. Can't cut welfare and expect people to live off $7. Do that, and they just become homeless..

I live in a metro with a much lower cost of living than the national average and Walmart starts new employees out around $11-12/hour, more with experience, in my area. Gas stations pay around the same. The days of large corporations paying the bare minimum wage are gone. Target and Amazon both have a $15 minimum wage for entry-level employees. Other companies like Walmart have to pay more or they will lose employees. I think it's fast-food and smaller businesses that pay closer to MW.
 
Kamala Harris has one job to do. Her job is to make people like her because Trump's ceiling is 44-45%.

Even after an assassination attempt, his approval rating is still in the low 40s. You can't make that s... up.

Current SNAP benefits amount to about 219/month per person. That is so much Money you don't know what to do with it? You never eaten better than when your food budget was 219/month?

This was not my family’s experience on government assistance when I was a kid. I’m glad you managed to live a life of abundance while poor.
 
just listened to Jake Tapper interview Nikki Haley. What an intelligent, well spoken, accomplished woman. So in tune on foreign affairs. And the Republicans picked Trump. LOL.

For those who say ‘he should’ve picked Haley as VP’ - get real. She’d say absolutely not in a heartbeat. She won’t declare loyalty to him. She doesn’t want to be in his administration. Trump is a clown show.

Well, the dems chose Biden when there were other dems (Josh Shapiro etc...) that would have been better.

Both parties are entrenched in committing political suicide.

Honestly can't remember the last time things went otherwise. Truman is the closest I can think of, bowed out after losing New Hampshire.

Yea, problem is that salary won't even pay rent in California. So those people either work and get food stamps, or they starve/homeless.
 
The next few weeks seems to line up well for Kamala Harris (vice president choice, convention, debating Trump etc...)

NYT polls nationally and the states just came out and she seems to be more competitive than Biden.

If republicans dont get the sh... together, this race can turn upside down.

He said: "Let's give votes right to all children of this country. Let's give control over those votes to all the parents of these children. When you go to the poll as a parent, you should have more power, more of an ability to speak your voice in our democratic republic than people who don't have kids." Insane!

It seems like JD Vance is gonna be a complete disaster for Trump. He is against abortion even in the case of rape. He is against the morning after pill, in-vitro fertilization.

We got about $600/mo for a family of 3. Our child was young enough that CHIP took care of feeding the baby. So yes we would buy steak, hamburgers, junk every month and still have money left over. We had so much money that, even with taking neighbors too poor to buy good food but too rich for SNAP shopping, we had 6 months of money we used after coming off SNAP.
