Biden Out of Race

Sure it did, we knew it was happening we could have intervened and we did nothing. We just let it happen.
You are literally the worse poster I have ever seen. I don’t subscribe to the Murse line but the more you post the more I see why many anesthesiologist dislike working w crnas

We should never intervene in civil wars unless it directly affects our interests. If we did, we would be never leave Africa.

who are we to decide which violent blood thirsty side is the “good/moral” side. Both are blood thirsty and just let them finish it however they want.

Your take is historically bad and I don’t think even your left brothers would back u up on this.

Just terrible take.

I never served but I am close with many who did. I guess my takeaway from this is that you seem very empowered to speak with authority on any topic, even ones you admit you know nothing about. .
This has been shown many times over since the start of this and other political threads. He will just grab some cnn/msnbc editorial pundit article as fact.

Look what Mika just said. Wat??

This is fact. Those arguing otherwise is just being delusional and argumentative. Set a standard, if u pass no matter man/woman then u can join. But dont lower it to get a woman in. This is just what most Reps argue but get twisted that we hate women.

What's funny about this is that the Army at least lowers standards not just for women, but for older men too (ACFT).

Switching to uniform standards could lose some men as well, a few of the older "seasoned" ones.

One thing I read was that the ACFT was supposedly designed this way for a couple non-woke reasons. Apparently, there's evidence that having a stratified system like this reduces the likelihood of injuries as well as simulate real world scenarios. For example, the sprint-drag-carry task is supposed to simulate your ability to carry a wounded comrade to safety. Maybe the tests the Army did prior to the ACFT simulated similar things, people here probably know.

You’re still posting as if you know the topic well, despite already admitting that you don’t. Do you just have a need to be heard? Sometimes, if you don’t know a topic, it’s OK to let others discuss it without pretending to be the final authority. I bet you have logged 1 billion Google frequent flyer miles in the past two years.

Correct me if I said anything misleading.

I’ll let others dive deeper i lnto this. I think if you talk to anybody that has been around for the old school APFT and the ACFT, they will tell you the ACFT has been an unmitigated disaster since inception. Ironically, the intent was to be gender neutral, which it initially was, but surprise, women weren’t don’t so hot so they changed it. And then changed it again, and again.

Did the ACFT initially start with age stratification too?

Minor point I'm making, it's my understanding they changed the test to be easier for older men too.

Yes, as far back as 2000 (probably a lot further just my perspective)when I joined there have always been age brackets on PT tests.

Edit: just realized your post was specific to the ACFT, it would be true that the intent was for it to be gender and AGE neutral. Yes, you are correct.

it’s a sensitive topic for me lol. I will say this and leave it alone. It wasn’t the old soldiers sounding the alarm on the ACFT, it was women soldier advocacy groups, and democratic lawmakers because over 80 percent of women were failing the initial version of the test.

How do people feel about the USA TikTok ban? I get it national security. But it’s not like the us govt isn’t spying on us anyways. Facebook is notorious as well.

Somehow I think both facebook and google (with YouTube) are involved in this matter. Both USA companies.

It’s like United healthcare in the ears of the Federal Trade commission lady about usap Colorado with TikTok posing a Great completion to the revenue of Facebook and absolutely destroying YouTube content these days

The attention span of Americans get less and less. Vine didn’t take off like Tik tok.

So I think national security is a secondary excuse to the real excuse. Money.

“A new disclosure reveals Instagram owner Meta spent more than ever on lobbing Congress and the White House as legislation to potentially ban its competitor, TikTok, was drawn up and passed”

So the Supreme Court is or isn’t swayed by money and politics? I forget where we stand on that?

I have no clue. For once the Supreme Court actually followed the rules

Notice they said congress made the law and they (the Supreme Court) will follow congress laws.

Which is the way the Supreme Court is supposed to act. Unless it’s “unconstitutional”
Law the way congress wrote
The law

So the Supreme Court actually respected congressional law this time

That’s why I mentioned the subject of abortion. If congress codified national abortion. The Supreme Court cannot overturn the national law. The original roe Vs wade was some bs ruling in the 1970s that people kept claiming as precedent over the decades. It was never a law passed by congress.

TikTok ban was a law passed and signed by the president and it was constitutional the way it was written.

People should really be paying attention to the tech industry billionaires sinking their fangs into the machinations of the state. Forget about the theoretical risks and promise of AI for a moment and look at something more concrete. The development of AI is going to require massive resources, which is why the tech industry is ingratiating themselves to the incoming administration. They’ll use the leverage of state power to continue investments into the development of AI. In return they are promising economic boom times as a result of AI continuing to mature and fulfill its promise. All while glossing over the negative societal upheaval that comes along with it (you think having a few manufacturing jobs shifted to China was bad?).

However, another scenario is just as likely…failure. It’s entirely possible that the current pursuit of AI is fool’s gold. The possibility that the economic promise and potential of AI will never be realized. If that happens, we could be looking at economic collapse that will make the housing bubble pop look cute. What’s happening now is that the tech industry is shifting ALL of the risks of AI onto the state…aka the taxpayer (both the risks of success and risks of failure). If the investments into AI succeed, the tech industry gets even richer while causing massive societal upheaval. If the investments into AI fail, the tech industry doesn’t get as rich, but the taxpayer is left holding the bag.

There are massive dark clouds on the horizon if you are willing to pay attention.

I, for one, will not even consider voting for a politician (either party) who does not demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the risks of AI.

Its the same in Florida.

It's not hard. Insurance prices are skyrocketing everywhere because of climate change. In Florida, it's hurricanes. In California, it's wildfires.

Other states aren't as affected by climate.

The insurance companies aren't political. They know that climate change will increase their costs regardless of who the political party is. Florida can't hide from climate change just because they ban the words from their laws.

In California, the reason it's an issue is because the government isn't letting the insurance companies raise prices as much as they want. Same in Florida.

Climate change is a fact

The funny thing is that the State Fair plan is very expensive with a lot of strings attached, yet the State does not allow the big insurance companies to increase the premiums.

My question is: will the insurance companies increase the premiums in other states to offset the big loss in Cali? If yes, for folks like me, what to do? Change to a regional insurance company not exposed to Cali and Florida?

Hard to predict for sure. I am sure if all insurance companies are mandated to remain in high risk states, then they will need to raise rates across the whole country in order to remain solvent.

The downside to these state loans and caps on rates, is that it incentivizes people to live in high risk areas.

Not sure why they don't just set a maximum gross rates vs expense ratio. That way they can raise rates only above their expenses, allow it to be based on risk, and adjust accordingly

Obviously.

I doubt LA could have done anything differently. Maintain 3x as many firefighters year round for a once in a decade fire? Who pays for that? City is already short on funds. Raise taxes more? Winds downed all of the aircraft as well. Pretty difficult to fight fires in hillsides without aircraft.

Clear brush on an entire city of private property?

Who pays to clear the brush in the hills?

Better management is nice until someone has to pay for it. But yes, it can always be better.

Hows Florida handling it when they don't even believe in climate change? No reason to increase mitigation strategies then right? Are you interested in buying property in the Florida keys?

Why is this the typical response? It's a lazy response from politicians who don't want to be held responsible for anything.

Of course there could have been improvements.

Who pays for brush management?

If it's City owned land, then the city. If it's private property, the owner. Los Angeles already mandates brush clearance on private property. Strictly enforce this.

The city should aggressively manage their brush situation. Los Angeles has a massive budget including over a billion dollars to the black hole that we call homelessness.

But good luck getting the city to do anything. They can't even repair broken sidewalks in a reasonable time frame.

It's not a revenue problem. It's a spending and priority problem.

Nobody wants to pay for crisis prevention. It's simply reality.

Could things have been handled better? Of course. But would it have dramatically changed things? Probably not.

It was a massive out of control fire storm with 90 mph winds. Goodluck

But yes, California should learn from it. Very hard to do.

City pay for tens of thousands of acres of annual brush clearing? Sounds great. Raise taxes to do it? Everyone says Cali taxes too much already

If insurance companies were smart, probably best for them to do it and enforce it as part of their policy

Except Cali state law outlawed insurers from appropriately pricing fire risk.

There is so much waste of tax payer money, worst of all in Cali and DC. At least there is one last opportunity to correct this problem in DC. Not so much so in Cali

Pardon.png

What crime did Fauci commit to warrant a ‘pardon?’ The banana republic won’t start today, it will continue. lol

This is so funny what Biden is doing.

So I was right the entire time. It’s become witch hunt on trump. And trump is gonna to pay them back. And Biden pardons them

Why pardon anyone if they did no wrong?

Even the left wingers on these message boards can’t defend these acts. All the left wingers here will say Biden is acting on his powers as president to pardon these fools who went after trump. That’s all they can say.

Funny how they say trump has to prove a crime happen if he wants to go after them

But now Biden knows anyone can make up charges and get conviction so he’s circumventing any pending prosecuting of these guys he just pardon.

Because anyone can make up charges and potentially get a conviction.

That’s the irony of what Biden is doing. He knows those charges against trump are bogus. Just witch hunt

Why the Need to pardon the Jan 6 committee?? If they did no wrong ??

Incivility and adversity and lack of fidelity to the process has become worse from both parties.
Why pardon anyone if they did no wrong?
Fear of weaponization of the justice system. Like what happened to Trump.

I’m glad people are finally seeing this. Biden preemptively wanted to protect others from trump.

The big big irony. No one who says trump is guilty can really defend this maneuver by Biden.

Shows u the clown shows going on in Washington with all the politicians. Dems and republicans.

Trump was part of many lawsuits against him before he was President, it’s nothing new.

Agree. I just didn't like the Prosecutions for the NY stuff. The military secrets in his toilet.....Not so much.

Anyone else getting rich off these Trump cryptos? JFC, getting rich off the predictable actions of a cult is like taking candy from fish in a barrel.

I have no problem with non violent pardons. If the majority of those pardons are, I salute the Biden administration
And you probably think pardoning someone who hasn’t been charged with a crime is ok as well.

Because Biden claims trump will do witch hunts on innocent people.

The straight looting and criminality by the outgoing administration is hilarious. They’ve literally bankrupted this country economically and politically. The cherry on top are preemptive pardons for crimes going back to 2014 (look up Ukraine in 2014). For anyone to defend either side is curious to me and I chuckle. You think the criminality will stop with Biden? Lmao

Shut up and buy $trump

Why do I feel like Trump has the temperament of a five year old? One day if you do something nice for him you’re his best friend. The next, if you don’t share your candy you’re the worst enemy ever. It totally has nothing to do with Trump saying this “When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different.”

Again. So funny the left wingers in this message board fully accepting of Biden pardons for crimes not even charged.

Like I stated. If you go through anyone small business tax records. You can find anything you can charge for a crime. People are so ignorant. That their hatred for trump blurs the reality that the trump admin can go after the same “crimes” against others. Trump could have easily gone after Biden family members for false business tax returns. Biden knows that.

The desperate interpretations already has happened. Now we are trying interpret movements? What is next, inflection? Facial expressions? How someone walks? Hair color? DTJ derangement strong.
His autistic ass even said my heart goes out to you, and figuratively threw his heart. But the optics, ooooffff. 🤦 He could have literally done anything else.
