I previously posted this in another forum, but though I could get some better feedback here. This fall I am going to be attending CCOM. I am enrolled in biochem II right now only because i was told it would help me out next year. I do not need this class to graduate and i really dont want to put out the work for it. We are studying glycoluiss and the TCA cycle and metabolism. Will I need this info next year, or is it gonna be a waste of time?

Thanx for any help

Waste of time. Biochem is medical school is less in depth than 1 semester of biochem in college.

Take a fun elective that you will get an A in.

Yeah, you will need to learn glycolysis, the TCA cycle, and other pathways like that in med school's biochem class. Personally, though, I don't think it's really worth taking the class as an undergrad. I would recommend trying to relax and have fun as much as you can before med school starts, rather than trying to learn everything ahead of time. Once med school actually starts, as long as you stay focused and do your studying, you should have no problem picking up the info then. Relax while you can. 🙂
