What is the average time for a 100MB download? WHat are some typical times?

Also do you use your web-browser to find the file you want then use the Torrent client to DL it or do you search with the Client? Can you do the same thing with mIRC client?

How can you tell if you are on a legal site (not that i care, but..how)

Download speed on torrents depends on your connection speed and the amount of seeds/peers available.

You have to download a relatively small torrent file from somewhere (website, another person, etc.) which then allows you to download what you want using the client software.

mIRC is something different - it uses IRC, so you have to go through the IRC channels to find what you want and download it. Hope that helps.

try this bittorrent search engine www.isohunt.com. As for speed, I just finnished downloading 4.3 gb backup file :p within 4 hours  now, do some math to calculate speed.

Hope that helps
