Just a question regarding AAMC vs. Kaplan exams.

AAMC 3 (1/14): BS:9 VR:10 PS: 9 Total: 28 (no studying...1/2 of physics)
Kaplan Diagnostic (4/14): BR:9 VR: 11 PS: 10 Total: 30 (still not very much studying 🙁 )
Today Kaplan Practice Test (from the book) BR: 11 VR:6 (!!) PS:10 (I did a lot of intense BS work this week)

My question is about the verbal. Do Kaplan's have weird verbal scores or something? I was trusting verbal to hopefully be ok! I'm an avid reader and generally do really well on that type of stuff! How do you guys prefer to study for that section?

Please do yourself a huge favor and ignore the scores you get from prep companies, they are all over the place and next to useless - AAMC is by far the best predictor of your score, just take a few more AAMCs to see where you are.

I wouldnt worry too much about that kaplan verbal score. You already proved that you can do verbal on the AAMCs so id say you're fine

If I were you, I would take more verbal tests to determine if your verbal scores are inconsistent or if that verbal test was a fluke.

When I was studying for my MCAT, the Kaplan Diagnostic practice exams were the worst. Very unpredicatable. Verbal is not similar to the actual mcat.
Used test prep companies exams as practice questions, period.
Just keep doing what you have been doing.
