I am currently enjoying some social distancing in Summit County Colorado. As a response to the virus they are closing down all hotels, Airbnb, Uber, Lyft, even the dog park. Everything but grocery stores, pharmacies, and weed stores. Nevermind the chaos this will cause for all the folks that work here I have no idea how not taking your dog out will defeat the virus. What are they doing in your area?

Beyond absurd...whatever the material human toll, the mob mentality will be worse over time....

It truly is a mystery. I mean, I never ever ever see dog owners at the park petting the sht out of their dog, petting a bunch of other owners’ dogs, subsequently shaking hands with another owner, and then going back home and having close physical contact with their family members.

This all is going to destroy a lot of small businesses, mom and pop shops, and some far over leveraged big dogs as well. I sense the billionaire class hyper salivating at the impending fire sales. That’s what one of my buddies does as well, buys well established businesses and breaks them up or turns them around, or both. He’s secretly excited what might be on the market for pennies on the dollar.

Might as well ban using the gas station too as we all pick up the same pump handle. Or maybe they can hire a bunch of retired nurses to scold us for not washing our hands before and after using the pump.

Yea, you're joking...and yet a shelter-in-place is being mandated in places because hordes of dumba$$es are not following basic hygiene or think continuing to go out to bars and restaurants is still a good idea

You are my spirit animal. Whatever that means.

Yeah this.
I forget what governor it was but he pretty much said since you all can’t use common sense we’re shutting everything down.

I was at Whole Foods a few days ago and a lady put her whole hand in the bulk bin of nuts and started eating out of it and then started filling her bag. The employee told her to stop and cleared out the bin. I don’t believe she was poor or homeless as she had a cart with groceries. This is why we need rules!

My city is on lockdown.

Not much has changed (yet) here in rural NC. Stores are fully stocked. Most everything is open. Went for a swim at the YMCA yesterday. Folks are using common sense and no hoarding. Folks are posting notices that they are available to help the elderly or anyone who might need it, should it come to that. Mostly hard working blue collar area. No surgeries cancelled so far.

The inability (or intentional refusal) of some people to follow basic commonsense rules during a viral pandemic is why Darwin’s theory of natural selection will, once again, demonstrate its validity and reliability.
Well, except some of those idiots will do just fine with the infection, but in the process infect some poor family member or friend, or some other unsuspecting, following the rules human.

Well now we have our glorious leaders telling us to avoid being around more than 10 people at a live press conference with a bunch of people crammed into a room. Nice.

They screen attendees.

Actually heard a guy on NPR today who said he got screened 3 times with temp before his interview with Pence. OK that's great. But I thought they said that young people can be completely asymptomatic carriers. They even made a big deal out of how we need buy in from the young people or they are gonna kill off a bunch of us old dudes. Of course, if said young person were hot enough I might just be willing to take my chances.
