Anyone heard of this?

I know its big at University of Florida, don't know about other places.

It is probably the most prestigious honor society at my university, looking at scholarship, leadership, service and character. PBK is more just based on academics here, so while still an honor, not like Blue Key.

I joined and sent updates to a few schools saying I was in and talking to them about it. Just because they don't have it at their school or it is not as prestigious at their school, would they still look at it favorably if I tell them how selective they are at my university?

Never heard of it and I'm a 2010 Gator grad

I've never heard of being in an honor society really helping out an application unless you were in a leadership position in it. Helping out enough to make a difference, at least.

Yeah that makes sense.

I mean i guess it helps as much as any other honor. I tried to explain how we put on one of the biggest student run pep rallies in the country, how we accept less than 1% of faculty and student leaders on campus, etc. Its definitely my proudest accomplishment at my university, so I definitely wanted to let schools know about it.

Thanks for your help!

An honor society probably won't add anything to your application. And, I've never heard of them.
A secret society on the other hand, that's where the money is my friend.👍

Dang, I'm in a secret society, but it's secret so........ah......Catch 22!
Agree that these honor societies mean very little in the end result. Best of luck. 👍

Hey, if it isn't Skull and Bones at Yale, forget about it. If you did not get admitted to Yale, forget about it. How do you think that weasel, George Bush got elected President of these United States. Skull and Bones that his Pappy got him admitted to.

Wait a minute. Phi Beta Kappa, formed just before the American Revolution in 1776 is a worthy honor. But this Johnny come lately fake honor society that you mention, I puke on their grave and so does Charlie Sheen who lives with two goddesses.

Just an observation for you. A secret society's membership is a secret, but not to it's own members. So no catch-22.
They're more useful in the long run.
Just my 7 cents.

I swear to god catch 22 was the most confusing book i have ever read, i cant even pronounce yosarian or whatever his name was, right >.>
