Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you all a heads up. If you are fortunate enough to already be getting interviews (or if you do soon), you should book your flights ASAP.
One effect of the debt limit debate in the US Congress has already come. Politicians are in a deadlock about what services to cut from budgets. As of midnight last Friday, some sort of legislation expired, and the effect is that the airlines can no longer collect certain taxes and fees on behalf of the FAA when you buy tickets.
Translation: Your tickets will cost less, for a short time, until Congress re-authorizes the FAA fees.

I know this is true, since I am flying in the fall to see some family, and my taxes and fees on my ticket were a whopping $2! 😀
