Does anyone else think that BRS phys is pretty thin as far as detail goes. It seems like one can breeze through this book and do all of the questions in about 2 days. I think its a great book but compared to physiology class first year it seems like there is a ton of stuff that is not being covered (ie. mumurs in the cardio section). Should I use another source to get more detail or is this really the level of detail we need for Step 1 USMLE?

I'm under the impression that it should be sufficient. The majority of step 1 is supposed to be pathophysiology. Also this is just a review book and should suppliment your knowledge from school.

I thought it (Costanzo's BRS Physiology book) was more physicopharmacology than pathophysiology. That's scary. By the way, does anyone else's pages keep coming out of your BRS Physiology? What a piece of trash.

yea, half of them were out of the 1st chapter before i finished reading it--but mine was from last yr, so i took it in to the book store, and they didn't really notice that it was from last yr (it was brand new though), and they exchanged it. You oughta take it back...well not really worthit anymore, since you've read it already, and the test is commin' up. But, yea piece of trash--freakin' 35 bux too.

I thought that BRS phys with FA was more than enough for almost all phys ?'s. The neurophys section of the BRS phys book is a little sketchy though, supplementation would help there.
