So I have just recently decided to make the switch from pre-med to pre-dental and now I have a few questions.
Currently I am in an associate degree nursing program. I will graduate spring 2019 and I will be a RN. I plan to work part time to help pay for college. After I graduate I will transfer to a university to complete a bachelor's degree and pre reqs. I am trying to decide between finishing my BSN while completing pre reqs or starting over with a new major and getting a BS in biochem. The difference would be that if I did the BSN and pre reqs I could be done in 2 years and if I did biochem it would take 3 years. So the obvious pros to doing the BSN would be that it would be much cheaper and I would be in undergrad for a shorter time (I actually don't mind too much being in school for 3 more years but it still is a pro to finish a year early). The con would be that I'm not sure how highly dental schools look at the BSN degree and also the degree is online. However, this is the only way that my university offers the degree so I don't know if it being online would be an issue. I know I would be able to do well in both majors and enjoy either one of them
What would your advice be on this? Should I complete the BSN or start over with a new major? Thanks in advance for replies!
