Hi

I just got accepted to Emory for their 3 Semester Epi program 😀

Waiting for rejections/ acceptances from Harvard, Yale and Hopkins....:xf:

I see a lot of interest in BU in these forums. From what I saw most of their classes are in the evenings and some end as late as 9pm. Wouldn't this be a hassle? That fact put me off from applying to the program.

Has anyone heard from Hopkins MPH program? 😕

BU has their classes at night to allow students to maintain full time jobs while attending the program. A decent amount of their students work at the university and get greatly discounted tuition. It also helps for students doing dual degrees.

This is actually why I picked BU. I am able to take almost all of my classes after 5 and maintain a full time job. I actually do work at the University (alot of the staff on campus are in graduate programs) and because I work for the school 95% of my tuition is covered. BU is a good program. Not ranked as high as some but rankings dont always matter. I have a background in public health, but I will come out of my degree owing nothing in loans etc. That alone made me pick BU

How long do you have to work at BU to get the tuition remission? Is it a full year? I've just been accepted there, and I want to do International Health (and possibly the Peace Corps International Track), and I'm a little discouraged by what I've been reading about this program in this forum. For those of you who attend BU, and are in the IH program (and even in the Peace Corps MI program), what are your impressions? Thanks!!

You start getting tuition remission starting the first day of the next semester that you are working. (example: If you started to work in August, you would get tuition remission for the fall semester. But if you start working Sept 2nd, and the semester started Sept 1st, you would not get tuition remission until Jan.)

I actually did Peace Corps before my degree. It was the best experience of my life

I finished my MPH in 3 semesters and had 2-3 part time jobs throughout school.

Are international students also allowed to work while on the MPH program? If yes, what kind of jobs?
