Yes, one more of those threads. Im trying to decide between the two. I enjoy New York, but I like Boston more. However, I like NYU, as a school, more. Any one else deciding between the two and can give me another angle of the pros and cons? Much appreciated.

I had to make that same choice. I went with NYU because 1) I like the city a lot more than Boston, 2) nicer facilities, and 3) it was ~$45k cheaper.

If NYU didn't offer you a scholarship, that means BU is likely your cheaper option. If you like Boston more than NYC anyway, go with it. It's a fine school with a bit of a better rep than NYU anyway, plus you'll have that kickass APEX program.

Roughly equal, imo. But, I'd go to NYU just because they are a more up to date on dental technology. BU is a fine institution as well, though. APEX can be viewed as a positive or negative, depending on what you want out of it.

Also, what if I threw Tufts into the equation? 😀 How does that school compare to BU and NYU?

Well, in my case, it made no difference, which is why I turned down the interview after my NYU acceptance. But from what I can gather, the facilities look nicer than BU's. Not that that would mean anything to me though, since Tufts has block scheduling of exams, which is a dealbreaker and a half in my book.

I haven't been to NYU so I can't say how it compares to BU and Tufts, but in a comparison between BU and Tufts I'd say Tufts hands down. I think Tufts has better facilities, and the curriculum set up is better. Tufts I believe will help you out in becoming a better clinician. This is not to say BU is bad. I feel they are pulling all the strings to improve the school, however Tufts is more established and proven. Who knows 10 or 20 yrs down the line BU will be far better than it is now.

Yeah, I think b/w Tufts and BU, Tufts is the better option. BU will catch up, though, in a few years.

To be fair BU is a relatively new school. The DMD program was set up in the early 70's. When I went there for the interview it felt like the overall curriculum was still in a state of flux.

Okay let's break it down - Yankees/Knicks/Giants or Red Sox/Celtics/Patriots

If that's not a no brainer I don't know what is.

Now throw USC into the equation. BU vs. NYU vs USC. Im from Southern California so I would say staying here would be a big plus location wise.

Still NYU. I'm opposed to the PBL program, and USC has a PBL based curriculum. Just for that matter, I'd take NYU over USC. Plus, I think the facilities at NYU are better.
