I have realized that I have started to feel the effects of burning out after months of a pretty tough schedule (MCAT-Work-School) and have definitely let my MCAT guard down (barely any real studying last 2 weeks). Suggestions? re-motivation techniques? de-burning methods? re-invigorating mantras? anything will help. I am thinking thorugh it logically, sometimes it help me to break down all into pieces and evalaute pros/cons etc. I kinda know what the result will be in the end (i.e. get to study now or you wont score well!) but it helps to go though it mentally. It has just been so hard to open a book and study meaningfully. BTW I'm not depressed or anything I'm just burning out. You?

I have taken the weekend off along with the last two days to regroup and figure out what I need to do from here. And it is all about day of defeat baby, that's my outlet. That and nice midday naps before work.

I probably sound like a broken record but take 2 days off or so. I did absolutely nothing related to MCAT one day, then the next looked over physics formulas and pictures from my bio book throughout downtime moments. I took a picture of all of the diagrams and pictures of everything in my bio book for looking at while bored/sitting/waiting/whatever. Also went to the gym those two days, since MCAT has greatly messed up that routine. Those two break days helped immensely though. I started back like normal the next day and felt a lot better and more focused.

maybe exercising is a factor there, i have been very sedentary as of lately and that slows me down and maybe has certain influence. Any other ideas out there?

Definitely rest your mind and exercise your body. It helped more than I can put in words. Other than that, there aren't too many other ideas rather than eating well (aka not junk food) and just getting lots of sleep so your brain has time to recover.

Go to the shooting range.

Honestly, I felt like the closer I got to the real test the more motivation I had and the more time I spent studying. I took 3 full lengths the day before the exam (although I did skip the VR on 2 of them).

Anyways, people here seem to be suggesting that you take a few days off, but from the sound of your post you've already been pretty not focused for the past 2 weeks, so I would recommend changing your studying venue. I always switched whether I studied in my research lab, or at home, or at friends houses, or even on the beach (totally ruined a library book by getting all kinds of sand in it, but it might have been worth it). Changing setting can be really effective in getting your focus back, in my experience.

movie marathon over the weekend, felt guilty for the first movie, then kept watching more movies. By Monday, I was fresh and ready to go
