Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy a refurbished/ used Pulsera from Phyllips. I see lot of online price range from $15-50000. I contacted Phyllips where they tried to sell me their Demo machine for $95000.

Now Phyllips rep are saying that they are going to have refurbished phyllips next week, but it will cost $75000 without Digital subtraction. Phyllips rep is saying that it gets sold on same day when gets available.

Is it worth to spend $75000 to buy Phillips refurbished C arm through phyllips rep versus buying from online market under $50000.

Thanks

Sam

What warranty does the Pulsera come with from manufacturer? Is it eligible for service plan and will they offer service plan on a used machine out of warranty?

Yes it is worth it to get the service contract. 75k isn’t bad and I stopped using dsa when switched to dex for ctfesi.

I would buy from the manufacturer for your first C-arm. I paid 75 for a used OEC 9800 with flat panels. This was about 10k more than third parties. The issue with refurbs from others is you don’t know what they actually do. Now if you have a tech that you trust, you could pay him/her to go out and look at the unit you are interested in from the third party. This might get you a deal and a good unit.

I have an extra OEC 8800 I’m not using I could sell.....does exactly what my OEC 9800 does. It is in great condition. New batteries and board last year.

Yes, I asked about financing with them over 60 months. They offered service agreement also for 60 months but that is $34000 extra for duration of 60 months. Do you think its a good deal ?

Sorry service agreement is for 48 months. How much is service agreements usually costs ?

It does comes with 1 year manufacturer warranty.

That is standard for their service contract, assuming that is their top tier service contract with same day response and guaranteed next day parts. It is expensive but if you search the board for repair costs IMO it is a necessity. They also include the yearly PM/certification of machine. You must also factor in loss of revenue if your fluoro is down for days.

I was recently in the market for a used c-arm and spoke to sales representatives from GE, Philips, and Toshiba and also negotiated with a few third-party dealers as well, so I am pretty well-versed with the market for used c-arms. According to the Philips sales representative, if you purchase from Philips, 4 additional years of service agreement after the 1-year warranty will run about $25K, so your quote for $34K seems a bit high. If you just want a 1-year service agreement from Philips after the 1-year warranty, it will run about $6750. If you are in the market for a Diamond Select BV Endura from Philips for less than $75K, I heard one may still be available. If you are interested in that c-arm, please send me a message for further details.

I agree with one of the previous posters on this thread. Unless you have experience operating c-arms and can readily diagnose problems, I would buy from the manufacturer, at least for your first c-arm. You may get better deals online from third-party dealers, which usually run about 50 to 75% of the quotes offered by the manufacturer for a similar c-arm, but you do not really know what you are getting from these third-party dealers. Are their c-arms truly "refurbished" or just touched-up? Do they even work? Third-party dealers sell c-arms as-is, without any warranty, and want you to pay for the cost of shipping. Most people or facilities who purchase from third-party dealers have on-staff technicians who can service their c-arms if they develop problems. If you are looking to purchase from a third-party dealer, I would advise that you arrange an on-site inspection to make sure it really works before you buy it, which goes back to how much you trust yourself in being able to diagnose problems with a c-arm. The last thing you need is to buy a c-arm as-is and find out it has problems after you pay for shipping and have it shipped to you.
