it won't look good... try to keep the rest of your science grades way up. also, be prepared to explain that grade to med schools with something other than 'orgo is hard.' (USF asks you to explain any grade lower than a B in their secondary!) i'm not sure how retaking a class looks to med schools, though... maybe something like a slightly bigger deal than retaking the mcat?

So C- need not be repeated, that was the question, like D needs to be repeated?

honestly i dont know if you can say there is a grade cutoff for repeating classes. beyond it dragging your gpa way down, do you think you have mastered the material with a grade of C-? will your preparation be sufficient for you to not only take and excel on the mcat, but also to use later in med school? it's up to you.

also i don't know if you're allowed to repeat classes that you have passed. check with your school?

You need a C or better for most med schools to count it
I got the same grade in Orgo I. Just do well in Orgo II and then take an advanced Orgo class
You could also re-take Orgo I (this is taking the easy way out though)

I got a C- in my first semester of orgo, and a B+ in the second semester. Some schools do NOT accept the C- as a C, so be sure to check. Most of the schools I wanted to apply for did accept it. If you show that you have since mastered the material--either through subsequent classes or the MCAT--you can go without retaking it. It depends on the rest of your academic record and the circumstances that caused the lower grade.

Yeah, some schools take the solid C as the minimum, won't take C-.

I browse admission info of many med schools. I did not find anywhere stating this. Most it said was one year of Orgo etc? Seems there is no official answer to this.

My school gives 2 quality point for c+, c, or c-. Like, even though transcript states c- yet the GPA is calculated on as 2.0 points.
