C/O 2017 LECOM Bradenton, FL

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Realistically, I think you are fine. Whoever interviews soon ask them how many people are currently in the class. Ask Lauren how many seats are still available that needs to be filled.

I just interviewed on the 21st and Lauren said there are still seats available, that it is still fairly early in the interview process since interviews go up until may 🙂

My app has been "under review by the Admissions Committee" since december, is this a bad sign? 😳 Has any one been offered an interview after months of waiting?

I appreciate your responses and guidance. Congrats to those already accepted and good luck to those (like me) still waiting.

I would just call Lauren and ask her. She is very friendly and will tell you what's going on.
Good luck!

No idea. I was offered interview in April lol

Anyone knows if the class is full now?

Thanks

Doubt it. Plus you will have people who will withdraw matriculation if they decide to go to other schools that maybe have a later interview date.

Called Lauren today and she said my application has been put on hold by the committee. Has this happened to anyone else? It's the first time I've heard of it, since I haven't even interviewed yet.

Same here, i just called Lauren and she told me that my application os on hold too :/ ... do u think thats bad?

has anyone received a response yet? Im going crazy...:scared:

Did you check your portal?

I had an interview Thursday feb 7th and found out the following Monday. The 11th. If your portal has changed then you can call Lauren on Monday and she will tell you.

To those whose file has been on hold for awhile, I understand. Mine has said the committee will notify you as soon as a decision has been made since November. Its been an aweful feeling. I felt my file was the only one in this situation or it was lost. I have also called Lauren and she told be on February 5th that maybe it would be viewed again in 30-60 days. Thought it would be good to get my stuff in early....

I was just notified of my interview and its on Thursday...quite sudden if you ask me, but hopefully that's a good thing! Anyone that has already interviewed: What did you think? What kind of things did they ask? And girls, did you wear a pant or skirt suit?

Pant suit, but some were in skirt suits....The interview feedback helped a lot! & everyone was really friendly 🙂

The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 10 days.

At that point if you call Lauren she will tell you.

Thanks Jiby, now I'm in the same boat as you. Apparently the deposit is due in April. I hope I won't be put into a situation where I'll have fork over the 500 and lose it.

I sent an email to Lauren just now and asked about my application. I was sort of late in the application process. Any idea how long it takes to process your supplemental application? I just submitted it last week. Also, does anyone know how many seats are left and are they just wait listing now? Hope I have a shot at an interview.

My Stats (PharmCAS has it much more detailed)

But your other interview is this week and you have a month to pay the deposit so hopefully you hear back within the month because yea it hurts to fork over that much money. But I'm trying to look at it as an investment. Lol

I'm pretty sure there are interviews all the way through May, so I don't know how they would make the deposit due by April?

It's due 1 month from when you get your letter. If you don't pay it you lose your seat. Which sucks because mine is due march 12th, but my next interview is not until April. So I was stuck paying it.

Oh wow, that really does suck. My LECOM interview is Thursday, and my USF interview is next friday and still haven't heard about an interview from UF(giving up hope), but I hope USF gives me their decision quickly so I don't have to make a pressured decision YIKES

is it really $500???

is it really $500???

Yes, timing was not really on my side I wish my interviews were back to back. Every current pharmacy student that I know told me that they were all in the same boat as me and they all lost a deposit to another school because of a similar situation that I am in. So I guess it's just something that happens often. And yes it's $500. 🙁

$500 is relatively nothing compared to $1000 that most schools require. I interviewed one school that requires $2000! 😱

Wow. Every school I have seen has been 500. 2000 is crazy.

Does anyone know how the background check/ drug screening works. I got the email from certiphi or something like that. If I pay the fee and have the background check done will other schools have access to that? And does it have me schedule the drug screening some where?

Once the background check and drug screen are complete, other schools will have access to them if they request from Certiphi. After you fill out your drug screen forms, you will get another email few days later with instructions telling how to go about your drug screen.

Is there a fb group? I'm lecom b med c/o /

The interview came and went. Oh my God was it laid back and I still let my nerves get to me at the start. Ah well, gotta wait on my response.

Hey there, I dont understand what you were trying to say in your post? So, you meant it was laid back? Thanks and I hope you would hear good news from them.

Yes. Sorry if it came out unclear but the gist of what I was saying is "the whole process was easy-going".

Thanks. I'm just glad it's over with.

lecom's interview was probably the most laid back interview ive had. Ive interviewed at two schools in chicagoland, 2 in the DC area, Hawaii, Fort Worth TX, Amarillo TX, Des Moines IA, Oklahoma City, etc cant even remember them anymore and they were the easiest. Easier than hawaii and they pride themselves on being laid back, but make sure you got good answers that can tie into each other. my interviewer asked questions based upon my answers so i would further expand and/or connect my comments.

big shout out to class of 2017! waddup fam! just sent my deposit in today 😎

Big up! Fam,
I guess I'm coughing up $500 tomorrow just to secure my spot by the March 12th Deadline for my deposit

i hope the class of 2017 @ lecom bradenton is going to be a bit more lively than whats going on the facebook page. its like everyone is posting they need roommates and thats it. i would not live with someone without getting to know them first.

call lauren and tell her youre sending the 5 bills. she can hold it for you till you matriculate. thats what she did for me 😎

Alternate List.

Half of me is disappointed while the other half is relieved somewhat. I don't feel pressured to cough up the 500 dollars only to lose out if I choose not to go to the school. But damn, the decision was made up quick. : /

I remember for those who are waitlisted we have sometime around June that we would hear something.

Well my gpa is verified in pharmcas and I s/w Lauren in admissions who said it should be a week or two but will get the email for the supplemental app and then we shall wait and see what happens.

I'm interviewing on the 14th. Anyone have any advice. Is it just one interview with a panel or is it two
individual interviews. I have checked on feedback but its not clear?

It's a one on one interview with a faculty member. Just prepare by looking at the feedback questions and you'll be fine! everyone is really friendly 🙂

Accepted!!! :soexcited:

I interviewed March 7th. My status changed this morning on portal and I called Lauren and she told me she will be mailing the letter today. Deposit is due April 15th.

Congrats! How do you know if you got in? The magic phrase is "The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 10 days."? If so, I guess I'm in as well! 🙂

I called Lauren and she told me. She mentioned during our interview that we can call as soon as the status says they made a decision. 😉

Finished the supplemental. Anyone know what the avg turn around is since I believe the deadline is April 1

It was really quick for me, maybe a week or so? You have to take into account, they are probably overwhelmed with applications because many people wait until the last minute to apply. So, the turn around time may be longer at this point. However, I don't think it should take too long because they have to get as many qualified applicants as possible! Quickly at this point!

Right on, guess will check back on the app next week unless get an email from them with an update. Didn't realize it would be busy at end of deadline as I assumed everyone would try to apply soon as pharmcas new app cycle opened up

Submitted Supplemental on 3/1
Application Processed 3/28
