can someone help me decifer the anesthesia lingo? What is a ca vs a cby and how does that relate to pgy-1, ect. I may be interested in anesthesia and will be a pgy-1 in FP next year. What type of spot should I look for if i want to switch.
thanks so much!

cby = clinical base year = internship = pgy-1

ca-0 = pgy-1 in a categorical program
ca-1 = pgy-2
ca-2 = pgy-3
ca-3 = pgy-4

If you're doing your pgy-1 year in FP, you should look for a ca-1 position.
