This is not entirely true. Are you instate or out of state applicant?
And I can say that the cut off is more like 26-27 MCAT. But depends a lot on whatever else you have on the AMCAS.
They review the AMCAS before asking for a secondary.

anyone have any idea what the filter cutoffs may be if you're an out of stater? it WOULD be nice to go to school in California...i've got family in both northern and southern California.

My friend, who is a out of state student has an interview with UCLA. Her scores: 30 Q MCAT and 3.80 GPA. From a big public state school.

I should be clearer. It was last year when she applied.

You should have already seen on the MCAT forum that the AVERAGE at Harvard is only 33.3. Somehow I doubt that the average for an ivy is only the minimum cutoff for a Ca school. Moreover, UC Davis has an average of 3.5, and the others are largely right around 60. Cutoff scores are probably lower, and my understanding is that the cutoff score is
x*GPA + y*MCAT >= z

of that form.

Good luck. ;)
