I'm looking to get a new camera, anyone have any recommendations? Really just looking for a point and shoot that'll take good portrait, action, low-light shots. I was playing around with the Nikon S8200 the other day, it seemed pretty good. I can go up to about $250.

I think Canon's S series are the best pocket cams. You can't get a new one but a used S90 is possible on your budget. Canon USA's website has refurb's for $280 if you don't feel like shopping used.

Action and low light is fairly hopeless with any point and shoot, though.
