I was wondering if anyone has or had an interview at Campbell? Mine is on November 8th. Does anyone know anything about Campbell and if people like it?

havent heard anything from them yet when did you apply? i go here now for undergrad...very strange admissions but you can search for that lol there are plenty threads with that topic out there. did you do ED?

No, I did regular admissions. I had my Pharmcas and supplemental in late August. I heard from them about 3 weeks ago, my interview was originally scheduled for the 1st but they had to move it. Do you like the school??

i submitted my things to campbell late august too, but I haven't gotten asked for an interview 😕 i mean i have a 4.0, so I am kinda expecting one lol....that's weird that they haven't sent me anything except an information booklet

I'm sure you will hear from them 🙂 Your GPA is perfect!

interviewed: just some stat/heads up...Campbell is located in some forest and mostly all white

did you interview this year? ...and what exactly did the statement its mostly all white have to do with anything?

Hi congrats on the interview invite.
Do you mind my asking, how long did it take for them to invite you after you complete your application? I got an email from them on Sept 20th that my application are complete and they are reviewing it. Also to wait 6-8 weeks? Which is 1-3 more weeks of waiting for me?

Thanks for the info.🙂

Hi, I received my completed application email on 9/20 and received an interview invite about 2 weeks ago. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll keep waiting 🙁 My PharmCAS GPA isn't too high bc of my past mistakes although I've turned around and gotten high grades on my pre-reqs. I don't know how to get their attention to that fact. O well. I hope they don't overlook my experience just because of glancing at the GPA number and not the essay too.
Thanks and good luck to you everyone here!

folks, dont go into anxiety mode... campbell is weird in the way they conduct interviews... i did not get an interview from them until early december last year...but when i went there, it was obvious they were in full recruting mode..
the school is literally in the middle of no-where-land! i was like, people expect too much and are always looking for an excuse to party...but it really is true - there is absolutely nothing there except for 1 gas station and 1 signal light... but i did like it a lot! sweet place and very friendly people - and it can be perfect for people that like small places and a place where they can make a few - but very close friends...interview was werid - u had to answer 1-2 Qs in front of all other interviewees... and then personal ones.. be prepared to impress in both sessions...

duh...you can find close friends anywhere...not just limited to Campbell?? 😕 make you ponder or raises a ?

I have an interview on November 8th, too. I submitted PharmCAS on June 29th, and everything was completed before September. I actually never received confirmation from Campbell, but I did call up there to check on everything. The admissions officers are BY FAR the friendliest staff I have ever talked with, definitely a selling point for me. I went on a tour of the campus a few weeks ago and I loved it. Maddox Hall is the new pharmacy building and it's beautiful. Granted, P1s still have their classes in the old building.

what are ur stats?.. if u dont mind me asking.. 🙂

and good lucccccck at the interview!! 🙂

I was thinking whether or not to answer the stats question...I'm going to answer it as follows:

PCAT 70-80 Composite
GPA 3.5+
I DO have a degree
I have many leadership activities

I didn't want to answer the question because I feel like it's going to either give people false hope, or maybe make some people 100% positive that they are going to be called in for an interview.

However, please pay attention here: There is no golden rule for admissions, I hope everyone realizes that. Just because you have a 4.0, doesn't mean that you are guaranteed an interview/acceptance. I could list plenty of examples that can affirm this. As for the person that has a 4.0, I'm guessing that you are either in the beginning of your Sophomore year or maybe Junior year. Also, just because you have a 60 on the PCAT doesn't mean you're out of the running. Many factors play in the admission officer's eye.

With this said, keep hope and have fun with the waiting process!

I have an interview on 11/14. Please let me know how yours goes! I did my undergrad at a private christian university, so I am pretty sure I know what they want to hear...

yea I'm beginning my junior year....also my PCAT was 92% and I've had over a year of pharm tech experience + hospital and lab experience...
kinda weird I haven't gotten an interview yet...I think it may have something to do with being a minority because I heard they have a quota on that....

I don't think it has anything to do with being a minority, because I'm a minority and my stats are not as great as yours, but I still got an interview. Just wait patiently and I'm sure you'll get that phone call soon.

probably the most ignorant thing ive heard on SDN in a while

if the letters from your recommenders rate you all below average on the categories, i doubt admission would want to give you an interview. or maybe ur personal statement? lack of leadership skills? maturity??

having pharmacy experience doesnt mean anything
probably the most ignorant thing ive heard on SDN in a while

I rescheduled my interview for Nov. 14th. Any tips from those who already had their interviews? Did you like the school?

how is that ignorant?? You must not know Campbell, because if you did, you would know they are Christian affiliated and they DO FOR A FACT have a quota on people who are non-Christian. and YES they can do that because they are PRIVATE.

hmmmm.... im in my fourth year here so YES i know Campbell and all of what you just said is complete BS.

"Since Campbell University is a private institution, students can compete for admission equally without regard to their state of residence, sex, race, creed, color or national origin."

so do us a favor and stop trying to use the race card...it has nothing to do with whether or not you get in this school.

Gee.... do you think it might be because you project an air that they aren't interested in? I mean, in an earlier post you stated that you "expect" an interview, as if you are entitled to one.

On the adcoms and review boards that I've sat on, we used the "I deserve it because I'm great!" attitude as one of our first cuts. Students (let's emphasize students here) who project that air of superiority tend, in my experience, to be not very good team players.

I wish you luck in your endeavors. Since you didn't get called for an interview (and those lesser people with inferior qualifications did, oh my), it appears that you might just need a little luck.

Or humility.

couldnt have said it any better myself.

Campbell University is a Baptist university affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Both in and out of the classroom, the University endeavors to present Christian principles to students and to foster their application to daily life.

The purpose of Campbell University arises out of three basic theological and Biblical presuppositions: learning is appointed and conserved by God as essential to the fulfillment of human destiny; in Christ, all things consist and find ultimate unity; and the Kingdom of God in this world is rooted and grounded in Christian community.

*****And I'm not complaining here, I'm just saying some people think the world is 100% non-stereotypical and that's unrealistic. And why does Campbell ask for Religious Preference on their supplemental?? If they didn't discriminate then why would they feel a need to ask that.....No public school would ever ask your religion straight up on a form. I'm not saying non-Christians aren't admitted, it's just that there's quota. This is somewhat similar to how they put quotas on certain races for public schools.

Your post had nothing whatsoever to do with my issue presented. Instead of talking about the school, you brought in a completely different issue-my personality. I am actually a humble person and I never act superior. If I wanted to do that, I would brag about how good I am, but I didn't. I just put things that showed my dedication to this career. Thanks for your feedback though, I like to be judged online by someone I have never talked to...

maybe this quote of yours " kinda weird I haven't gotten an interview yet." should be worded differently if you considered yourself to be a humble person. I believe all the people here + adcom people dont know you at all; when they see that statement, it presented a totally different story.

added to that, so why did you apply there at the first place if you know there is quota with the school that for sure makes you more inferior to other applicants? I don't get it.

"kinda weird I haven't gotten an interview yet" ---> As in, I'm surprised I haven't gotten an invitation yet, no arrogance there, it's just a statement.

And yes just because I stand less of a chance at getting in that school, does not mean I want to go there. It's a great school and I have no problem that it's Christian affiliated. The school was built on certain morals, therefore they have every right to select candidates that they think would abide by them. Honestly, I think you are just trying to start confrontation that's not necessary.

And I think you're in denial that there may be something about your application that makes you...... unattractive. But yeah.... you just sit there in all your glory and wait for the schools to come knocking on your door.

I got a phone call from Dr. Moore yesterday, I got in! It's only been 6 days after my interview, I'm so excited!

Good luck everyone!

Congrats! They told us that it would take 4-6 weeks, but I guess not in your case. I'm freaking out already. Waiting is hard!

Hey UNCboy...you know about the school in Chapel Hill? It's pretty good.

Of course, I'm biased because that's where I spend most of my waking hours.

lol thats where im trying to go!! I'm still waiting on their response just like everyone else . . . ha ha they are so slow

Hey Everyone! I was just wondering if the people that posted comments back and forth about various things NOT related to the thread could delete their posts?!!! You just sign in your name, then go to your posts and select the "edit/delete" option in the lower right-hand corner.

While I love the stabs back and forth, it's distracting to the real purpose of "Campbell Interviews."

Thanks!

I am a Campbell Graduate..

Before applying:
Good luck to minorities and non Christians.. This school will change u.. and not for the better..

😕 After applying... for the interviewers:
I can tell you how the interviews will be performed, the questions they ask, what they are looking for, and about the school.

😕People who just got in school and others wanting to know more about school then what's on the website:
School will begin with "Pig Pickin' "

I can tell you about each professor and the big players (from Larry Swanson to Thomas Holmes). ALL professors HAVE to be Christians, only 2 minority teachers in the pharmacy school that you will deal with; Thomas Abraham (worst, reverse racism all the way) and Dr Al-Achi (best professor in Pharmacy school).

PM me if have any ?s
