Can Anesthesiologists take FMLA?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are anesthesiologists who work for USAP allowed to take FMLA? Has anyone ever successfully accomplished this? Other than maternity leave. Thanks

I thought FMLA is federal law. If your leave is FMLA appropriate why would the company refuse it?

Only good thing about my previous work in an academic setting was 18-week paid FLMA (base salary only). Gee.

Yes, FMLA is readily available with USAP. Every claim is approved by Prudential.

I think the law applies only to businesses bigger than 50 employees. So small private groups don't have to follow the rules.

Yep and have worked at least 1 year with a minimum number of work hours during that time (1250 hrs i believe)

I know of a doc who had an ortho procedure under spinal and block (for post op) with no medication on his lunch break and then went back to work.
