Hey guys,
As of tomorrow, I will be exactly 3 weeks before my Step I. I have done about 500-600 questions in Uworld (I just started doing them few days ago, 100qs per day), and I have been scoring average 75-85% (or slightly higher) in areas I feel strong with, and more like 60% or in the range of one or two subjects that I didn't study adequately for (I just scored 60%ish on neuro pharm subject that I had not read at all). I know I haven't done enough Uworld questions yet to take those % literally, but how far am I? I haven't taken any diagnostic exam, as I heard they don't help too much and is a waste of time if I don't have much time left (like my case). The thing is that even when I get like 85% on Uworld question, there were planty of questions I did my "educated guess" thing on, instead of getting them cold because I understood it. Then there were few questions I got right for absolutely wrong reasoning. So I don't know how to interpret these %s.
Another question is about productivity thing. I have been studying about 3 and half weeks so far, so I guess you could say I am half way in. I went through First aid, Goljan Path, Rapid Review Biochem, BRS phys, high yield neuroanatomy, and Levison Immunology (just immuno section) all of them once through last three weeks, to slowly soak up and "understand info." I read a bit slow, study about 7-10 hours a day (not counting break time...pure study time). So far, It seems that I will be doing about 100 Uworld qs + 30-60 pgs of reading per day. I feel slow, and I don't know how much I should be really doing. Since now I only have three weeks left, I am thinking about just diving in with Goljan, FA, and maybe read other review books only if absolutely necessary, but otherwise just memorize whatever in Goljan and FA. Is there anything else I should consider?
I know it is a long winded question, but some guide would be helpful. And by the way, I am a lurker in this forum, but I was always amazed how much camaraderie stands in here along with supprotive atmosphere (which is unthinkable in other SDN forums, sigh). Thanks to awesome people who are posting helpful info for lurkers like me who just read, and read to get some tips! (Hats off)
