Greetings,

I made a similar thread in the Australian Forum and now I'm interested to hear from those that are studying in Ireland and or UK, specifically those that are are canadian and did Undergrad in Canada

From my understanding there are two ways to get in to the atlantic bridge program the 6 year high school, and the graduate entry, which ranges form 4 to 5 years.. and once you are accepted, tution will cost about 30000 Euros per year give or take.

Are most Canadians using the Line of Credits?, as well what is cost of living etc in Ireland. guess it depends on the city. I hear its quite expensive is that correct?

Further more I woud like to know what type of Competitive marks they are looking for, more specifically the GPA cut offs. And to way schools choose applicatns. ie do they look at cGPA, or last two years. Do they consider individuals who have Masters or Phd's differently. Is so is there a difference in the GPA calculation.

As well I guess one of the most important questions is, Do Canadians or any international graduates end up going back to Canada, and or the States. or do they stay in Ireland.

from the Australian post, I was informed that the Australian Curriculium is a bit different than that of US/Canadian one, hence those that graduate from Australia will need to study extra material for the board exams USMLE 1 etc...

is this so in Ireland?, and as well how do individuals compare the quality of labs and lectures to those back in Canada. I have heard that Carabiaen Schools have no support system for students (ie your in but you have to fend for yourself), and that some Australian schools are quite disorganized with labs.

How do irish schools fair?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, and I'm sure some are already answered. but I am very confident that there are at least 100 of individuals who are doing research

I thank in advance anyone who helps out

Yes, you can go back home after. The vast majority go into family medicine although you wouldn't think so from anecdotal evidence from this site. Here's a collection of bitching and moaning about the Irish schools for your reading pleasure.:
