can someone please shed some light on the difference between case vs metrohealth IM program?

is metrohealth part of case or is it more of a community based program? Is it less academically oriented than case?

Both MetroHealth and University Hospitals are teaching hospitals affiliated with CWRU. MetroHealth is a county hospital (i.e., it used to be Cleveland City Hospital). UH is a university hospital.

Both are "academically oriented". Some might call UH "more" academic, but there are plenty of faculty at MetroHealth who might take umbrage at that.

MetroHealth has a greater proportion of foreign medical graduates (i.e., both U.S. citizens who went overseas for medical school, as well as foreign nationals who attended medical school in their home countries and came to the U.S. for residency training) compared to UH.

If you are an average student and an average resident and you want to aim for a competitive specialty, you would probably have better chances coming from UH.
