I will be beginning my prerequisites for pharmacy school in January. I have read some threads that says it's okay to attend community college but others that says it's not. Would it be okay to take the lower level classes at a CC and the upper level classes at a university? I have narrowed down my schools to six yet when I look up info about them, it does not state a preference. I would like to be as budget-conscious as possible before pharmacy school and cc would be cheaper. I'm not trying to restart a thread so I apologize in advance if I have done so. One last thing, has anyone ever called schools and ask their (the school's preference? Thanks

Like you mentioned, there are many threads on this. Also, like you mentioned, there is no straight answer. So you need to call the six schools and ask them. They are the only one that can answer your question. Not any one here.

Actually, no one ever in the history of LIFE has ever called schools and asked them their preferences.

In fact, one day I felt very brave and tried to call a school and was on the line with what seemed to be a very willing and helpful woman ready to answer all my questions...AHH BUT I CAVED, I couldn't bare to think of the answers she might tell me so I just stayed on the line, breathing menacingly hoping she would hang up but alas she wouldn't! She even asked me if she could help me but I was too nervous. I hung up but then she called back 😱:scared:

I couldn't muster up the courage to answer the phone. 🙁
Now I will never know what that school's preference will be on pre-reqs.

I wasn't brave enough, but maybe you can be.

Good luck.

I think it's worth pointing out that the answers you receive by calling someone in admissions are not always pure truth.

Best bet would be to see if you could get percentages on the most recently admitted class. I think my school has a breakdown that shows how many have a bachelors degree, for example.

Each school has their own preferences. I was able to get into USC with most of the prereqs completed at CC. Whether that will fly for 1 of your 6 schools is an entirely different question altogether.
