For my March interview, I heard back from CCOM in Feb and scheduled it three weeks prior to my interview date. So you should hear from them soon. If your heart is set on CCOM, why don't you try giving them a call or sending them a letter of intent/update or both? It doesn't hurt to be assertive in these situations. At the least, you will be back to square one.

im applying for matriculation in 07, but midwestern is my top choice for next year, so i know an unnecessary amount of information about their admissions process..you filed your app a little bit late, so that hurts, but if your numbers are strong you'll be okay. if you've been doing more volounteer work, improved your grades, or have another letter of rec, feel free to send it to them, they're one of the few schools that welcome updates from their prospective students. also, you should call their admissions office and simply ask to speak with someone, they almost always are available to answer your questions.. i would definitely give them a call and tell them whats up, ask an admissions person if theres anything else you can do to make the process go more smoothly..good luck.

Would they take someone who has a 3.9 GPA and an MCAT in the low 20s but has research CNA shadowing and volunteering experience? Do they have a wlist

honestly, if you havent heard yet, i'd say your chances are minimal to low.

im a first year here so its not like im just randomly saying this.

well, your chances arent wonderful but dont lose hope yet..you did apply kind of late, as i said..but your gpa is great. a friend of mine got accepted into CCOM last year with a 3.3 and a 24, so i'd say you still have a shot. another friend of mine was waitlisted and didn't get accepted until the week before classes...as i said, the best way to really find out where you stand with the school is to give them a call and ask.

and yes, they have a waitlist for applicants who havent been granted an interview, and also for those who have interviewd as well, i think.

Are they meeting up on March30th? Does anyone know? I don't think that I can wait four more days...it is one of my top choices and would really like to get in!! My mom says to just forget about it all, but I can't! I have to find ways to stay focus on my school work.... :scared: 😳

yes they are.

I had an interview at CCOM on March 21, and the ADCOM should meet today. Does anyone know when they post their decision on the website? 😴

I have known several of my friends who have gotten in, but never really heard of the final decision being posted on the website. Maybe it is something that I am not fully aware of...I always thought that I would hear via snail mail. In any case, my online stat hasn't changed, and I interviewed a few days earlier than march 21. Has anyone out there received a phone call from the office?

They will call you right after they make the decision that you are accepted.
I assume they snail mail bad news.

Thanks laboholic for clearing things up. So if they did meet today after all, tomorrow might be the big day. omg, I can feel tension building up right this moment. 🙄 😱

They will call you and you can also check on your "Interact Now" page. If you look at the check list, it will say "accepted student check list."

Hope that helps 🙂

Maybe it is a stupid question. What is the check list?

When you sign in in your Interact Now Page, check the upper right hand corner of the page. The icon looks like a white sheet of paper with a check mark over it. It is also right next to the question mark icon.

Hope that helps 🙂

I see....Thank you! Nothing has changed. 😴
Hopefully tomorrow I will get phone call...I gotta charge my cell phone tonight!

Not necessarily. I interviewed 11.8.04. When everyone on SDN got their call, I assumed I didnt get in. But then like 2 days later my mom called and said this beat to hell letter came that said I got in.

Im still pissed they never called.

ANyone know if they are calling people this afternoon, this morning, etc...
Trying to help a friend stay calm here (yes I talk to myself)

Honestly, I had no idea that they called people. COMP and KCUMB just snail mailed. So after reading this thread this morning- NOW i'm nervous. Anybody that interviewed on Mar 15th with me? The best of luck to anyone reading and nervous this morning. 😱

You may not nessecarily get a call, you may hear though mail. I received my accpetance through mail, not by a call. This was during the Thanksgiving holiday though, so that may be the reason why. If you don't hear anything today, don't worry, you may get a letter sometime next week. Good luck!

And I didn't mean to quote you davematthews, this post is directed to everyone 🙂

This is not the end of the world (I keep telling myself this).

haven't received any calls yet. I will keep you guys posted if I hear anything. If you hear anything, please do the same. 🙂

Does anyone know if the acceptance letter comes in a big and thick envelop or just a normal small business envelop?

you know, i wish i had seen this thread earlier. i actually feel less nervous knowing someone else is going through this with me. but i keep trying to tell myself- if this is really good for me, it will come to me. i don't know if that sounds holier-than-though or if it actually helps anyone. but i'm trying so hard not to think about it. [yeah, i say that, as i jump at the sound of ANYone's phone ring.]

lol. but will do. will definately post if i hear anything.

u know what the funny thing is? i was barely considering chicago UNTIL i went to the interview. and now it crept up on my list.

i don't know about this school- but other schools were in a normal envelope- normal mail. just one or two pages saying "congrats and we'll send you everything later, just send us money first." =) hope that helps

The funny thing is I was the same. I got accepted to NYCOM a couple of days beofore I got an invite to CCOM interview. After I recieved the invitation I was debating if should spend the money going to the interview, since I live on east coast. After the interview I was glad I went.

Oh wow. I have an interview in NYCOM on Tuesday. I hate to switch the subject- but any remarks to compare NYCOM to CCOM?

I interviewed at both schools and was accepted to CCOM, still waiting to hear back from NYCOM. My personal choice is CCOM. i had a great vibe when i visited the campus and the students all seemed happy at the school. I can't say as much for nycom- all of the students had something negative to say about the school. just my opinion. i also heard back via snail mail.

good luck to you!

:luck:

so i'm assuming no one heard anything today? or maybe you did and were busy celebrating your acceptance? [congrats, if that is the case!!] but let the rest of us know and join in your celebration!

I haven't heard from CCOM as of Sunday April 2nd. I don't know about others but I live in Chicago, so hopefully I will hear from it sometime this week.

Did anyone hear anything yet? I interviewed the 14th and they told us probably not till the 2nd week of April. This is killing me!

Got the evil alternate list letter. Any helpful suggestions?

No words yet for me... how about others on this thread?

Don't lost hope, Khia 18! I have heard of few people who got off the waitlist even until the day of classes...I think that there is a continuous movement on the waitlist. A letter of intent would be nice to call their attention to your application or a letter of updates with new grades, research, activities...etc.

As for me, I have no idea where my future will lie... 😕

Can I asked you a weird question? When was your letter postmarked? This may sound anal but I am trying to calculate when I should be expecting a letter. Thanks.

Write them a letter, preferably showing that you have been doing something productive.

March 31... got it today April 5th

I got an alternate letter as well....darn!
I interviewed on march 21st.

Me too. I am disappointed. The alternate list is pretty much similar to the waitlist, isn't it?

I got a letter in the mail that said my application is on hold-status until the ad-com reviews it middle/end of April...am I on the waitlist? I interviewed the last week as well.

i got the same letter on saturday. i called yesterday and no, it is not the same thing as an alternate list. The academic counselor was VERY vague but said that they didn't get through all the applicants at the march meeting. Basically, our application hasn't been evaluated yet.

I asked when they woudl meet, he said they would "try" to meet next week. Who knows

Good luck!!

Has anyone get accepted from alternate list this year?

Here is the information I got from the director of admissions which was reiterated to me last week when I called:

-Right now there has been no movement on the waitlist
-CCOM is actually above their quota by one or two people; meaning that more people have accepted their invitation then they usually take
-However, this should decline as more MD schools will have waitlist movement and this will trickle down into the DO schools.
-I've been told to wait till mid June for any news
