Hey just curious if anyone found issues with the ranges he listed for C NMR? I went back to my old lab textbook and noticed some differences, but I wasn't sure it they would really matter.

For example: He has alkane shift values from 0-80, but my textbook really only has them from around 7-45. It just seemed like a big difference.

I just started destroyer so I'm not sure how detailed these questions get, but I'd like to know I have good information before memorizing the shift values.

If the alkane portion has groups like O or N or halogens attached,,,,,,it may bump the signal around the 70 or 80 mark. However,,,,For C13,,,,,focus on 180 for the carbonyl.......135 for the double bond......and 80 for the triple bond......and you should be fine......looking so far upfield usually isn't that helpful.

Good luck in your studies.
