Hi Everyone,

So I am currently a third year at UCLA. The science classes has always been difficult for me. I really do not know what to do. I feel like I am very passionate in becoming a dentist, however my transcript is absolutely horrible. I have 8 C's on my transcript. It's not that I don't study, I just maybe feel like I don't study correctly or not getting the material well enough compared to my peers. I haven't taken the DAT. I don't know if I should go through a post-bacc program. I am currently involved in some volunteer organizations, and have held only a small handful of leadership positions in my clubs. Is there any chance of me getting into any dental school? Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you!! 🙂

8 C's is going to end up hurting your GPA a lot. I'm guessing that means you have a healthy amount of B's as well. First things first, you need to learn a study technique that works for you to get A's. If you don't get that down, bost-bacc/masters won't matter. After you learn some techniques, you'll probably need to do a post-bacc of masters program. Right now I'd say the chance of getting accepted isn't extremely high. You'll need to do well on the DAT and post-baccs both, and be involved, lots of shadowing, all the other application boosters.

And at the above poster, YES! Thanks for a laugh lol
