Anyone heard of a US-IMG getting Anesthesia in CA lately. I have 250+ on both steps, but I doubt whether Southern CA spots will even consider a Carib grad. Also, would doing an elective in Gas at one of those programs help, or is it futile. Thanks.

Why don't you jsut call the programs that you are interested in and see what they say? Though I think it's against the rules for them to say "no we don't take usimgs", you will probably get a feeling for your chances by talking to a PD.
Ask something like, "Have you taken IMGs in the past?" Be smooth about it, and you should get a pretty good idea whether they will give you consideration.
