Hi everyone,
Here's the breakdown:
MCAT: 32R: 11 PS, 11 VR, 10 BS
GPA: 3.7 but with a big upward trend (this year my gpa was 3.93)
sGPA: 3.43 but with the same big upward trend
Extracurriculars: volunteer for one year at a local hospital with a lot of patient contact, research for one full year and two summers at two different labs, mentoring high schoolers doing research, board member of a council for honors college activity planning, co-captain of a club sports team (compete against other schools), Italian club member.
I'm a bio major with minors in Studio Arts and Italian, and am planning on applying this cycle with hopes of getting into an md/phd program somewhere or at least a school with strong infectious diseases research opportunities.
Oh and shadowing: i've shadowed several ID docs, a neonatologist, and a gastroenterologist totalling about 25 hours of time (I'm shadowing a lot more this summer).
