What would you do?

Dilemma: I planned to take the MCAT May 26th, but there are no seats available in my state or any neighboring state (yes I know, fml).

Options:
1. Drive (7-8hrs), or fly (1-4hrs) to take the test.
Pros: I can continue to use my study plan that has been set to the tee.
Cons: Cost. (I would have had to drive at least 2 hours to take the test anyway because it's not offered in my city - thanks aamc.) Possible loss of zen if I drive.

2. Move the test date up to May 21st.
Pros: I only have to drive 2 hours.
Cons: Losing 4 days of practice/review (including taking my 7th full length exam)

3. Move the test date back to June 16th.
Pros: More practice time. Only a 2 hour drive.
Cons: The day before my graduate-level cumulative biochem final. Submitting amcas app 1st week in June to one school, but I won't submit to other schools until July 16th instead of June 21st or June 28th.

I did not voluntarily wait to register for the May 26th date; there were extenuating circumstances. (Who would wait without substantial reason? o_0)

Hey ahavah,

It seems the best option is the 21st. The 16th seems to cause a bit of a conflict with your biochem final, probably not worth the stress. Do you really want to spend several hundred dollars on the flight just to get a few extra days in? It doesn't seem worth it, especially since there is such an extensive travel period.

Yeah Ninja, I registered for May 20th last night... the 21st was also a travel inconvenience. Thanks for talking some sense into me! lol - I was extremely overwhelmed & sleep deprived in need of opinions from others that understand this type of stress.

Thanks! (and to everyone that voted).
