Incredible video!!! Reminds me a guy who inserted an LMA to himself!!!

Lovely. Every plaintiff's lawyer in the country now has a wonderful video to show the jury on how easy and quick and slick an awake fiberoptic intubation can be. This is a formidable visual argument against every iv induction that goes bad...Why not do everybody who doesn't look completely straightforward this way?

Granted, there's no cure for stupid juries, but I'd think that any defense lawyer could give the jury a brief and convincing argument that
a) the ease or difficulty of an AFOI in a "known easy airway" in a cooperative experienced anesthesiologist isn't the slightest bit comparable or relevant to the unexpected difficult airway
b) starting every case with an AFOI is totally absurd

Yep. It wouldn't be that hard to do a) or b). If anything, you can bring books that are written about difficult AW's and failed intubations:

Books like these should enlighten the jury of the difficulties of AW management... but then again... never been sued for a failed intubation.
