Chemistry (Horrible Situation)

First of all, my grades are not that bad. I got 3.63 A, without studying and begin the most lazy student on my group.

I'm superb great on Pre-Calculus, Calculus and any other class, also I love Biology so much and is my fav. high school class. I'm a junior. But.....

I really suck at chemistry, it frustrate me that I cannot do things in time like others in my class room. Is the only class I got a B. It's so difficult to me to write a damn chemical equation correctly. Does that is going to affect me on pre-med and begin good on MCAT? I know this sound like if I'm rush or something but is that if I can't get the things right now in Chemistry, imagine in college. I also don't know if it is the teacher, she always explains on rush. And where I live chemistry is in Spanish but I always try to study with youtube in the math parts. Anyway, I want to get good grades on this class, any hints.

Your performance in HS has no effect on the medical admissions. Anyways, I don't think you should worry about chemistry, you'll learn how to do it right when you're in college.

I don't understand, are you a high schooler in PR? or are you a Junior in University in PR? Either way with a 3.63 you'll be competitive for any of the PR schools as long as you even get a 23 on the mcat.
And no, one B in chemistry won't kill you.

High school. I know it won't kill me, but I actually really want to learn what is going on and I really want to know Chemistry. So any advice or websites would be great.

Your performance in HS has no effect on the medical admissions. Anyways, I don't think you should worry about chemistry, you'll learn how to do it right when you're in college.

This. Remember the difference between the ones who make and and the ones who don't are the ones who work hard and don't give up. Plus almost everyone has a weak subject! Good luck!🙂

If you're superb at math then Stoichiometry should be very straight forward. Just make sure you do many practice problems of a large variety so that you understand the concepts and logic as easily as you would your addition/subtraction tables.

I think the problem is the teaching level in high school is poor. I sucked in all my science classes in high school. Once you go to college, the professors have doctorate degrees in their respected field, and they teach and you WILL learn. Good luck!

I sucked at chemistry in high school and I got admitted this year so it can happen, haha. I got a D on my chemistry final in high school. My most successful moment was probably when I couldn't get the knot in my lab apron untied, and couldn't get myself out of it so my teacher had to spend 15 minutes undoing it and obviously free time for everyone else. LOL

The nice things about college chemistry were:
-Office hours (time set aside for professors to meet with students)/TAs: even if your professor sucks, one of the TAs is bound to be able to help you
-Not as much busy work
-Chem I was, at least for me, largely a review of high school chemistry. This helped me get a good start and feel more confident.
-A lot of schools have free tutoring, and at least at mine it's not a big deal if you have a tutor.
-Recitations/labs: Recitations are smaller groups led by a TA in which you usually work on problems. Recitations were a good time to clarify the material, get extra practice, and ask questions. Also, our orgo labs usually involved content questions for the lab reports and the lab TAs would take time out to go over the problems with us so that was helpful too.
