Finally! I got my interview invite today for March 16..they emailed me yesterday saying my application was up for review so not bad on timing..granted my pharmcas was sumitted 1/12 and mailed 1/22..im excited🙂😀😀

Just got an interview invitation today as well, after just receiving several e-mails asking if I would be submitting another LOR since I didn't have ones from a pharmacist. Wonder if this means I don't need to befriend a pharmacist now. Hmmmm...

Hey everyone!

I have just decided to go ahead and apply to CSU. My PharmCAS app was submitted on time, and I plan on sending my supp application on Monday.

However, I wanted to know, will CSU accept PCAT scores from the test taken on 24th January 2009? Or is the October 2008 score the latest score they consider? The reason i ask is because i took the test on both dates and feel like i have done better in January, than i did in october, even though i don't have my scores yet.

Also does anyone know their minimum PCAT requirement?

Thank you

for those who have interviewed at csu or students that currently go there..what hotel would you recommend?

pharmdsis112-

i don't think there is any minimum pcat score...and i'm pretty sure that they accept the jan pcat scores. good luck!

there is no minimum pcat score...but they do not take the january pcats for this yr. the lastest 1 they accept is the october one.

Ok.......this school will not get back to me. I have emailed them and left 2 voice messages in the past 3 weeks. I only submitted 2 lor's and just need to know if they will consider me or if i could submit another 1. I think that is very unprofessional. Guess not since i have not recieved an email and it sounds like all the interview invites are out. I submitted my supp app in jan. and i know i'm a strong applicant........i received an interview from midwestern and UIC. WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!!😕

rxgirly,

Have you tried contacting Amalia? This is her contact info from the e-mails. If you got interviews for UIC and Midwestern, you should go for those! I didn't make the cut for those so you're really lucky and indeed, a strong candidate 🙂 Good luck.

yeah she is the one that i left the phone messages and she finally just responded. Now i have to get a letter from an advisor, which is bad news because i have only seen an advisor like once my entire college career. I usually just figure stuff out on my own.

I'm sure you'll figure something out. Wow, I am so nervous about flying out tomorrow to Chicago for the interview. How were the interviews that happened today????

did anyone who were accepted got their package for the matriculation? it's been two weeks and I haven't heard any. I've called and emailed....getting worried...

i haven't received anything yet for the matriculation as well....

Bluemunkie-

i had an interview yesterday...I was really impressed with everything. The faculty was incredibly nice and made you feel confortable. The whole day was really organized. I don't understand why so many people are talking about the safety of the school...it seemed completely safe to me. Everything is really nice and clean. Seems like CSU has a "bad rep" from people that have never been to the school...so check it out yourself and don't beleive everything people say! good luck with everyone's interviews coming up!

Yaaay, I can't wait to go! Bluemunkie is already there and she said it snowed last night. Did it snow during your interview?

Amalia finally got back to me. she said "...your acceptance packet is going to be mailed out next week. You should be receiving it no later than the week of March 2nd (depending on how long it takes to arrive). The packet will contain the information regarding your deposit and the due date."

I was actually at the Feb. 18 interview as well. I don't think we won't be hearing anything from them until about a week or two weeks from now.

😕😕😕did any1 hear from the feb. 18th interview??!!:scared:

Hey, don't fret. We were told at the 2/20 interview by Amalia that because Dean Slatkin was ou for foot surgery that day that we would receive notice at the earliest by next week. Since all acceptance decisions have to go through him first and he would be out for a while, it will be a while. On that note, you probably don't want to get ANY emails from CSUCOP this week because it probably means that you have been waitlisted, are on hold, or unfortunately rejected. The admissions is also rolling admissions so that may be also holding up accpetances. Good luck PillPusher!

I didn't realize there were AM and PM interview session. But at least I got to meet you, Pharmdapp87! Overall, I felt a little uneasy with the area around the campus. And, the campus was tiny and the website made it seem like it was so much bigger. I know they are under going renovations in the "library" buildling but the cubicles and walls were a little sketchy to me. Well, I don't know how i did on the interview, but I guess we'll know soon enough.

BTW, I thought they were reviewing the files yesterday of the people who interviewed in Feb and then they will tell us if you're accepted or on the hold list this week.... So far, I didn't hear anything. *waits* :scared:

Yeah, I was very unaware of the session split as well, but I'm glad to have met you too bluemunkie! The campus is really quite small (Which is ok with me because that means there's less of a distance to travel in the cold lol), but the renovations are the only thing that may be a turn off. The school is actually really good, and, unlike most colleges, the proffessor student relationship is very strong. In addition, the students have stopped competing with one another (unlike some students I know already in Pharm school hiding information from other students, being stuck up etc.) and have all become very close as well. All in all, I'd say the school is genuine, and I really hope I get in.:scared:

Idk when they are going to say anything, but I would like to think we'd get an answer by next week hopefully. The suspense is killing me!!!!

So we should of heard something if we were placed on hold, wait listed, or rejected by this week?

Does anyone know how long it takes to hear from them once u submit ur supp app?? I submitted mine like the beginning of this month and still have heard a single word them...Kinda getting worried!!

Basically, that's what Amalia said. As the dean said "Technically you've been accepted, now we're just trying to see if there is a reason to reject you". I'm not sure if this is the only week dedicated to rejecting, wait listing or holding applicants, but because Dean Slatkins was out, any acceptance would have to be on hold, because it must go through him (hopefully I'm making sense😳). If an applicant is sending out red flags or whatever, then they could send out those dreaded rejections or wait listings because that does not require Dean Slatkins's approval or signature. If you want more information just contact Amalia, I'm sure she'll be happy to clear give you any information🙂.

I couldn't really give you a clear estimate because of variation in time. Maybe a month to a month in a half. I submitted my pharmcas in December but it wasn't sent out until the 5th of January. On the other hand the supplemental was sent out in December, but CSU sent me an email telling me they still didnt have it. i really didn't fret because I was sure I sent it to the right address, and thought maybe they misplaced it or something, but eventually I got something mid February asking me for an invite. It really depends. It is rolling admissions but then again they send out 200+ invites. Just try to focus on your classes for the time being🙂 and make sure you don't empty your junk email without looking in it, that almost happened to me. If I had I would have never gotten the invite!:d

for those of you waiting- i got my acceptance email exactly 3 weeks after i interviewed. also, i got my matriculation agreement in the mail exactly 3 weeks after my acceptance email.

I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER 2DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! i was at the feb. 18th interview. BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

Hello everyone! I just got my acceptance letter on the 27th, I am sooooooo excited! I interviewed on Feb. 18th, so I met a few of my future classmates already. I was so suprised to have received a response so quickly. I am really happy to be going to CSU-COP and am really looking forward to meeting and being part of the class of 2013. I wonder if the current P1's are going to contact incoming P1's to sell us there books? It would make things easier for everyone. I wish everyone good luck and see you in the fall!

hmmmmmmm.... they sent out acceptance e-mail last week... if i didn't get one, does that mean i'm rejected? 😕

Getting kinda nervous too :-/... hopefully they're just focusing on feb 18th interviews...:scared:

Has anyone spoke with Amalia regarding the decisions and when we will be finding out?

I got an Email on the third stating my application has been put on hold. I'm out of state so I'm thinking this is the main reason why. I know they get a lot of applicants for out of state students, but with only 15 to 20 spots available too out of stators I'm starting to lose hope... Anyone else hear back yet?

for those got interviewed can you suggest what type of questions they might ask for the interview and how to prepare for the interview.

thanks

i am in the same boat. do you know how many out of state students they have already accepted? how many out of state-ers did they accept last year?

According to Pharmcas 84 students were accepted and 15 of those were out of staters. Ellison said that they would probably accept 87 and 15-20 spots are available. But we did interview early. I don't know if that will play a role or not. I've never been so anxious in my life lol.😳 When did you interview?

i interviewed on the 20th. i'll keep my fingers crossed for us. :xf: now it's just the waiting game... :lame:

aye. I got the dreaded HOLD e-mail this Monday.
I think my chances are slim being out of state as well....

I guess we'll keep waiting till the next batch of interview in March. :scared:

I'm from florida and i got the hold email as well. I was at the Feb 20th interview and I didn't know that they have 15-20 spots for out of staters. At my interview i would say 10/12 were out of state. I guess im gonna have to wait till May 15th.. Does anyone know when they will be looking at the hold applications, im guessing after the last set of interview...

Idk... thats a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time... Were you with the AM or PM group?

Congrats babakpharm!!! you must have WOWed them in the interview! Are you accepting to go there then?

Desperadopharm...you sound like you were in the AM session (out of the 15 people, a lot were out-of-state). Show yourself! 🙂 well, describe what you wore, i can probably remember you..

I think, they keep looking at your file every time the have an interview session, at least two more in March and April. We were the 4th or 5th batch, weren't we?

ummm idk if i wowwed them, but i think i did OK. I was expecting a hold b/c i haven't finished all the pre-req's ( i need to take a class in the summer). When i was interviewing with the assistant Dean, he told me that the school really doesn't like summer courses. So i dont know how i got accepted😕😕

congrats babakpharm! 🙂

bluemunkie- i actually met you at our interview. i was the girl who said that i recognized your sdn name. but at the time, i did not have an account myself.

has the school sent out rejection letters or wait-list notifications at all? or are they just placing everyone who is not accepted on hold?

Has anyone received the matriculation agreement?
