When deciding on your medical school, what do you value most?...assuming at the end of it all, everywhere that you are accepted will educate you enough to be a compotent physician:

Cost? (state school)- tens of thousands of dollars worth of a difference each year
Program? (dream school)- good student body, reputation, dual degree options, privilege to go
Location? (convenience for relationships and family plans)- marriage within the next 2 years...partner willing to move, but already established

It really depends for me...I said location and I interpret that as how well I fit into the location as well (how i like the area...the area's overall personality, weather included, etc.)

However, price IS top if the locations differ but the prices differ by a HUGE amount. Not like id pay 20-30k more for a nicer view or anything 👍

While cost is important... at the end, I'm still going to be in debt no matter what school I go to, and I'll probably be in the same amount of debt if I go to any school (even my state school, because I'm no longer sure that they'll consider me a resident).

So, location is most important. Where am I going to be stuck for four years, and will I have the support I need when I need it.

It's hard to vote for one between location and program, but I picked location. I only applied to schools in California. First, my motivation was that my boyfriend and family are in California, but I later found out about a large scholarship I have that can only be used in California (thus, cost is not an issue, as long as I stay in state). Program is important to an extent - within California, I'll probably pick the school based on program/fit/feel instead of trying to get as close as possibly to family/boyfriend.

As they say in real estate....

(one must never leave LA, OC or SD areas)

Toughie.
Location is hugely important. I moved from Vegas to SD for college and loved it! So I definitely want to stay in a fun big city that I can fit into.
But the program is also important.
But with location and program, you'll be able to find your niche anywhere (hopefully).
