I'm trying to apply as early as possible (I already have secondaries from MCW and Creighton) but there's been a small snag and I need some advice. My school's pre-med committee and letter service requested 4-6 weeks to send out the committee letter as well as my other letters of recommendation. Luckily, I contacted the secretary in charge of sending out the material and she said that the wait is for a rewrite of the committee letter (everything sent out in mid-August) or I can just have it sent out now without the committee letter having been altered.
Should I ask to have it sent out now? Or wait for a rewrite? I'm not quite sure what I rewrite would result in as not much was done this past few months aside from my senior year grades, which were average. Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Do you mind telling me which school you are from? It awfully sounds like my undergrad.

I went to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
It's a small liberal arts college in the Adirondacks.

Upstate here, too. But not Skidmore. Is there any way you could find out why they are asking for a rewrite? Usually, at my school, rewrite occurs when the letter is either too bad or too good (This is to give everybody an equal shot 🙄 ). If this rewrite is just to update your senior grades like you said, I wouldn't even worry about it and send them out as they are as long as the committee is fine about it. Good luck!

yeah. my biggest question is why they are rewriting it. well now its july. i dont think that it would affect you that much if you waited...assuming the first interviews are sometime in august/september. where is your first choice? try to find out when mcw and creighton give out their first interviews. if soon, send your stuff out now. but also try to find out what the rewrite is for.
