Hi Everyone! I’m a California resident blessed to have gotten to the following programs and would appreciate any input deciding between the two.

CHSU

Pros:
- closer to home
- P/F preclinical courses and not ranked
- cheaper, albeit not by much (DO schools are expensive and don’t offer much scholarships)
- higher chance at California residency (not even quite sure about that as there’s no match list)

Cons:
CHSU is a newer school, with their first match list set to come out next year

Nova

Pros
- More established and reputable school
- Good match list

Cons
- Move away from home
- A,B,C graded courses
- HUGE class size, around 450 students across the two campuses- lots of competition for opportunities such as rotations

Essentially, is Nova so much better for my medical career than CHSU that is warrants moving away from near home and my support network and dealing with the other cons it has?

Have you checked the cost of attendance? Nova’s is reportedly around 400k or more now. I am not sure for which campus but I assume all of their locations have been impacted by the large spike in rent.
