does anyone else have arguments with themselves about their attitudes ? Whether to remain hopeful, or to just get over it and start falling in love with your acceptance, or to do whatever you can to get in, or to be grateful you got a spot somewhere ?

That is what kills me the most. Friends and family asking about the situation-close second.

As said before, you can not go wrong with anywhere in Spain. Barcelona, Madrid, and I studied on the north coast.....all freskin awesome. Definitely cheaper than France or Italy ...
 
I wish I was stuck between choosing too schools...because if I was accepted at my top choice I wouldn't have to make a hard one!!! Oh UMD, why do we have such a love-hate relationship?

New York is sooooo expensive 🙁 I guess at this point I need to stop lamenting and suck up the big bill.

YESSSS! Me! Ugh, didn't see this before my last post. I haven't officially gotten notification after my interview in January with the exception of the post-interview hold my top choice is basically giving every decently average in-state applicant...which 99% of the time ends in permanent waitlist limbo. What's worse is that I work for the school! Worst form of torture sometimes, I swear...

Yeah, I do. I've tried to find a happy medium. Working hard at my wait lists but happy with the idea of going to DS (and being near-ish to my bf for one more year).

What more are you doing for your WL? I've already submitted a combined LOI/update letter but who knows anymore. Going back and looking at it it seems average at best and I sent it promptly after my interview, to which they obviously didn't respond with an acceptance

Same here, TCOM is in Ft. Worth which means my best friends are short trips away, with one in ft worth and a sister in Dallas.

Thankfully TX has some agreement so that all the TX schools, including Baylor, can't offer a spot to an applicant who has a position at another TX school after June 15th(except with special permission). So that day will be such a relief.

Haha... I can be one. I just found biochemistry exams from over a year ago. But, then I get into the cleaning phase and just fill garbage bags full and toss it.

To every wait list I've sent at least one letter. One got an outright Letter of Intent, the others got letters of Interest+Update (and one got a letter of re-interest because I'd already sent a letter of interest+update before being wait listed). I also had my PI write me a new LOR since I started working for her too soon into the application cycle to get a letter from her.

I'm planning on sending each school one more letter of some sort, except I meant to do that by tomorrow. Oops. I need to either work hard at it tomorrow, or put it off till Monday, but hopefully no later.

I've also meant to try calling at least two of the schools and trying to talk to the head wait list admissions type people. We'll see. I don't like talking on the phone. 🙁 I did call my interviewer at one school because we got along well and he knew my brother.

I used to think of myself as a minimalist, but apparently, I have a deceptively large amount of stuff.

What are you going to tell them on the phone? Just express your interest in the school/update on your progress?
 
I wonder if this will be an ongoing battle throughout med school too...
 
damn. My order on a Nokia 5800 got cancelled 🙁 It was on a nice sale but a lot of people apparently ordered 3 or more to re-sell on ebay. I was being the nice guy and only ordered 1 for myself and get screwed, while many are now popping up on ebay.

😕 That's why I haven't called. I have no idea what I could say that I haven't said in letters and that really necessitates calling, but my brother... I think I'm going to start referring to my three brothers by their grad degrees... So my brother, MD insists that I call to show that I'm really, really interested.

Alright, tomorrow I'm going to do some major investigation into North Shore Spain. Interestingly enough, my father told me that I am part of the royal blood line to the former Castilla Kingdom. Here's hoping for a revolution.
 
My PI told me I write like a child.

And I got completely effed by my molecular bio final... err.. rather more like lets test funky only on the things he did not study😡
