Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey Piano, I check out this thread every time and again to see what the big 2013 fuss is about (must be like 10% of Pre-allo avatars now). But I must say, this thread is overwhelmingly huge. Like Vadd.

... 998, 999, *pauses*

Oh, I didn't see you there. I was just lifting now. Yeah, I am pretty huge. BeefCAKE!

1000.

I just realized there's a picture of a trashcan with a big X through it on the heaphones I just bought. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get out of this. Don't throw away your headphones? Don't plug them into the trashcan?

The picture's either a trash can or a golf club-carrier-thing (=caddy?).

In other news, I haven't yet figured out how to make the computer actually *recognize* that I've plugged the speakers into it...

But in reality, my body just stores all of its fat in my torso and chest. So my arms and legs are "toned", but I have a gut and possibly gynecomastia (so embarrassing).

Something like this

Gynecomastia is a glandular issue. Although having fatty deposits in your chest can make it look worse, gynecomastia is caused by having larger than normal glands behind your nipples.

So I never had a regular doctor growing up, so I need some advice.

I haven't seen a doctor in a few years, and the last time was for allergy medicine. I want to go in to the clinic and get a check up, but I feel fine. Do people see their doctor for checkups or is that something I have invented in my mind?

Well, I cannot feel the textbook firm "ball" behind the nipple, but I do have puffy nipples. (Did I just disclose this?!) I am going to call the health clinic on campus and see if I can have it checked out.

Look online for a plastic surgeon who specializes in gynecomastia correction surgery. There's bound to be one in your area.

I see my PCP once a year for my annual checkup, just had one in December.

One of my coworkers that has been out since christmas break came by to visit today... she was supposed to be coming back next monday, but the doc wont clear her (had a complete hysterectomy at the end of dec) for two more weeks.

I miss her. She's such a bright spot around here.

You're not supposed to throw electronics away in regular trash due to the crazy chemical compounds contained therein.👍

Ooooh...I see. Makes sense.

Re the PCP question I just got a primary care doctor in town in December and I saw him once. I didn't see a PCP in college. I did see a pediatrician when I was under age 18.

Is anyone else taking a year off before school? I am and I'm SO bored all the time! Being lazy was really fun for the first few months but now it's driving me nuts 😱

Does anyone have any homework they want me to do for them? haha

i'm in the same boat.

I'm taking a year off... but I've been anything BUT lazy. I've been working full-time and doing some professional performing around town. It's been an awesome year!

Same here. I've actually been out of school (undergrad that is) since December 2005 and finished my post-bacc in July 2008, but I've worked full-time throughout. I am quitting my job at the end of June though, so I will have two glorious months off before I become an indentured servant 🙂

i'd work full-time if someone would actually hire me!

I'm taking a year off, but working full time so I don't have much time to be bored.

This summer I'll be QUITE bored.

Ditto. My last day is May 30th, but school starts Aug 4th, so that's my 2 months. One month at home then one once I move.

I saw my pediatrician until she passed away from breast cancer. I never actually had well visits because I've been sick at least 1-2 times a year since I was born...

I see a pulmonologist primarily (whenever I'm sick, he's my primary doc) , and I have well visits with the OB/GYN now that I'm older.

Who are we kidding. We might complain when we're really busy but that's how we really like it. 😛 I have a full-time job right now too and I sometimes hate having to go in...but I think that deep down I really love to have to pull the extra hours and to do all the other things I do in my life. Having something to do at all times is nice, otherwise I think life would be a bit more boring.

Yep. I love it actually. I'd like to make my own hours (about 10-4), but other than that, I can't complain. Busy is good... and it makes time pass until we get to something that's actually what we DO want to do.

this thread is way too far down the page

so I'm taking a poll among friends. Which vacation would you want to go on: a 7 night cruise to greece & turkey & a few nights in italy -or- a 7 night cruise to a caribbean destination (bahamas, jamaica, something like that) with a few nights in miami ???

Turkey & Greece because of its history.

Time management to max:

4:15, get out of seminar early, run to bus stop
4:30, put water in pan and place on stove.
4:31, take a dump and then wipe
4:34, wash hands and place pasta in stove
4:35, jump into shower (i have a habit of showering after a dump whenever possible)
4:42, microwave chicken
4:43, drain pasta and place on chicken, pour olive oil and eat
4:50, take vitamins
4:51, wash dishes
4:54, run back to the bus stop
5:25, stop gel transfer, block with TBST milk
5:30, prepare primary abs
5:45, check emails, check SDN

at 6:05, will put in primaries and then try to make the 6:15 bus

This is what happens when my schedule gets messed up due to having to take an extra class 🙁

Two things: you're kind of white, and you're likely very pretty as well. (Some muslima get uncomfortable when I tell them they are pretty, and if this is the case I am sorry 😳)

white? lol.

well, i guess that's seasonal, i tan ridiculously easily.

hah i realized how few pics of myself i have on there. well, i'm usually the photographer.

Got my first scholarship from med school in the mail today! Its a fairly small one, but every bit helps! Plus they said there may be more forthcoming. woohoo.

Free money is yay!

sorry...i was upstairs banging on the piano. Trying to make sense out of sheet music for the Pink Panther Theme and Star Wars Imperial March.

I'm not up to much though. I might go hunting for some food later.
I know I said I wasn't going to work out today...but I just feel unusually energetic so I might go cycling in the gym tonight. Quite an unlikely event tho...
