This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
holy crap, GONCRATS!!!!

Hope I get a similar response from Loyola... this is what I got back:

"I will present your request to Dean Jones and Donna Sobie, Director of Financial Aid, to see if there is anything that can be done for your situation. You should hear something within the next week or so."

Mo money?

That sounds hopeful! :xf:🙂:xf:

also, not a day goes by without me thanking god for multiple choice tests.
Totally. Perfect world would be multiple choice + partial credit. "The answer you chose was incorrect, but was a slightly more intelligent mistake than the blatantly incorrect 'none of the above'."

I apologize for the plethora of "friendship requests" that I just sent to you guys.

...sorry. Friends?

yeah, this is my main issue with multiple choice exams. even if i narrow it down to the best 2 choices, i still get no credit if i choose the wrong one

my other issue with multiple choice exams is when teachers just write really really poor questions (like when none of the answers are actually right but you have to choose the "most right" one. that irks me)

 That's brilliant! Schools should definitely implement this.

i love multiple choice. i had a bio prof during college who made what she called "multiple guess" exams where each question had 5 answer choices. you had to circle *all* of the choices that were correct-- and it could be more than one, or even all of them. or none of them. crazy! i loved those.

Those made it more difficult 🙁 . We had this one class that was online and matching, but absolutely ridiculous.

You'd have options A - F, written out above. They'd be something like:

A. Has a RNA component
B. Has 3 side groups
C. etc.
...
F. alksndlaknsda

So a bunch of random qualities. Then you'd have a list of closely related cellular components and different choices like

A
AB
ABC
AC
ACD
ABCD

Like every fricken combo in a drop down menu. Navigating the menu was half the battle. Totally sucked.

...any of that make sense?

That is so interesting! I've never had a test like that before! So I guess that factors in the whole multiple choice/partial credit thing...

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it... Those would only be good IF and ONLY IF it allowed for partial credit. Otherwise, those would be super difficult.

oooo i HATE those! i had a prof like that too and every question would have a or b, b and c, all of the above, etc. and that made everything so much harder.

wait, u get partial credit? thats different then, i might like that.

Just finished my Evolution extra credit thing. Sweet.

Now I can relax for the rest of the day, and begin doing more stupid school stuff tomorrow.

They were weekly quizzes that had to be taken between 2-6 on Fridays. Totally freakin' lame.

dr horrible got voted back in after losing in round 1

Friday = awesome.

On a random tangent - off to shop for new jeans! Exciting times

hey, does someone have the LizzyM school selector spreadsheet that they can PM or email to me? i want to show it to my friend and i deleted the copy i had.

in news no one cares about: I FIGURED OUT HOW TO USE CAPITALIZATION ON MY PHONE...i've had this phone 11 months😛

So I definitely quit that Sweet 16 tournament thing. People cheat.

I'm only voting for llamaworm when the time comes.

You could just submit write-in votes for llamaworm each round...

I can't wait to get off work. I really really want to take a nap, but I'm going to resist the urge and go for a run instead.

do u run between the aisles back and forth like a crazy lady or something?

lol do u use an alphanumeric pad or something?

umm maybe? if that's the little keyboard with all the letters that slides out from the phone than yes...i'm kind of technologically challenged haha

Hahaha no!! After work, I go to my gym and run on the treadmill. I prefer running on indoor tracks, but alas, they do not have one at my current gym.

gooood morning:soexcited: i woke up thinking about the stupid personality test :smack:

im still gonna take the one you guys were taking but its just so freaking long :annoyed:

haha no, alphanumeric is old style with letters and numbers on the same keys. those slide out keyboard ones should be easy to capitalize! you really are techno challenged 😉

oh i thought u meant u were going on a run at work, so i imagined u jogging between the aisles 😀

but yes, tracks are better, treadmills can lead to very embarrassing moments if ur not careful....

Dear Bank of America,

Thank you for not telling me that I had overdrawn and continuously let me keep using my debit card for tiny purchases all the while tacking on a $35 overdraft fee. Thank you for finally letting me know when you declined to work for my Taco Bell order.

Thank you especially for charging me TEN of these fees already.

Sincerely,

About to be an Ex-Customer unless this online representative changes this.
