My dad is annoying as hell on purpose so I get mad at just about everything he does. Regardless, I already said I got mad about something stupid. And you get no opinion in the matter.

Be kind to your dad. It's Father's Day this Sunday. He loves you, I'm sure he doesn't just annoy his sick daughter on purpose.
 
He's your dad. He loves you. He and your mom probably paid a lot for your education, too. I won't overstep boundaries though because there can be exceptions, like my parents. I'll ignore that last part considering your sick

yeah well i dont know either of my parents birthdays, anniversary, etc. half the time i forget how old I am and have to calculate it from my birth year

Yes, he loves me, and yes, he does stuff to purposefully annoy me. He doesn't know how to act when I'm around since I haven't lived at home for like 2 years, so he goes with annoying.

Yes, they did, back in elem/middle/high school. Now I'm totally on scholarship. So they can't pull the we pay for your stuff card. And you shouldn't ignore the last part. You must be at least 18 for your opinion to have a chance of counting.

thats sorta like girls saying they dont really want anything for valentines day because its a silly holiday or medical schools secondaries saying this essay is optional you don't have to fill it out. clearly he wants something.

I actually don't play too much Metallica anymore, that's just what got me started into learning to play things that require some skill.
I play a lot of instrumental guitar music (Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson), Dream Theater, a lot of metal that doesn't scream (Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Iron Maiden), and a lot of regular rock stuff (3 Doors Down, Goo Goo Dolls, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin).
I like playing the blues a lot more than I like listening to it. Plus a lot of metal/rock guitar is just fast blues stuff. I'm also always down for a nice acoustic ballad, preferably with someone to harmonize vocals with me. That's always fun.

He wants speakers shaped like rocks for outside by the pool. Not sure why. It's not like it'll match any of the other rocks outside. And if he put them in the spot where there are rocks, it'd be too far away from the table on the other side of the pool. So he'll probably stick them in the plants. But then there are just random rock speaker things in the plants. Totally illogical.

Someone tell me about their day and something interesting that happened. I'm super glad I brought a book to the doctor. I was there for 2.5 hours but I got a lot of reading done. 👍

i should have phrased my statement better. we had a discussion about part of the bible. namely, whether King Saul was justified in taking the spoils of war rather than razing/burning everything in sight.
 
1 Samuel 15

Cliffs: God tells Saul to commit genocide on the Amalekites. Saul and his soldiers refuse, instead sparing the Amalekite king and the best spoils of war.

The woman I was discussing it with said no, Saul was absolutely not justified in the action. God told him to do x, he should have done x. Much like if your attending tells you to piss on the wall while the patient watches, you piss on the wall while the patient watches.

I suggested, we need to know what Saul's true intentions were in saving the spoils and the king. Were it motivated by greed, perhaps not. But maybe he was rewarding his troops for a job well done - what good would it have been to simply slaughter the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings? Although, one can argue that the LORD would offer far greater reward for obedience, than that which was attained from the Amalekites.

Then we're back to square one

Yeah, that's what's so hard about interpreting things that happen in the Bible. You know what people said. Of course, we can never know why God does what He does. And then the people's intentions are rarely clear either. So hard to figure out what's actually wrong and right and such.

From a literalist point of view (the only means of interpreting the Bible I think is reasonable), why God does what he does is irrelevant. Suffice it to say, when he tells you to do something, you do it.

Now granted, I am only about halfway through the Old Testament (Book of Ezra) and I understand the New Testament God is quite different. So I'm reserving judgment until I read the whole thing.
