Dude, I wouldn't put up with that. I feel like my time is too valuable to let some chick not even pay attention to me when I'm trying to help her with issues in a class. I have never had a student do that though, they were always pretty attentive and actually seemed to care. Maybe it was the fact that they were paying my $25 an hour fee out of their pocket or that they actually cared. But I would be offended if they started texting when I was helping them.

It's different if they have plans or have to firm something up and say, "Excuse me for one sec, I just need to take care of this real quickly." I wouldn't mind that. But constant texting during your session... :nono:

if you are driving like 12 hours though, don't you need like a stop over (unless you are leaving in the morning)? then, gas + hotel becomes kinda expensive

Im gonna leave early in the morning. I was going to start driving 2 days before and stay at a friends in Atlanta, but I realized im taking 95 not 75. So it should be cheaper over all in the end
 
Scheduled a mock interview for Friday. That gives me 2 days to improve until the real thing! :laugh:
So I found out I'm like a book behind in my Honors class. Stupid freshmen. 😡

Oh yeah, I forgot they were doing the lecture, seminar thing with that class now. It was only seminar when I took it. It gets boring at times, but it's a really useful class I think.

It better be. I have to go to the Honors Convocation, because we have to read the book from the guy that's speaking. I didn't even have to go to that when I actually was in the Honors College.

Oh, there was this total gunner in my marine micro class. I was just tapping my fingers slightly on the desk before class started, and she turns around and gives me 😡. Then, she's writing in her ridiculously organized class binder (everything the teacher says - all posted and pointless), and answers every single question the teacher asks. I was never on gunner patrol until this year, since I have a lot of freshmen in my classes now.:laugh:

maybe junior year will be cool...
senior year will be awesome...
i'm gonna love med school, it'll be different...

👍 I catch myself thinking like this all the time and I try not to... but I think that's the tendency everybody has. Tomorrow will be better, next year will be better, the winter will be better, the summer will be better, once my kids are out of the house life will be better.. and on and on.

Well, I'm in a freshman food science class, a freshman honors class, a freshman spanish 2 class (but there are a lot of seniors) and a junior/senior environmental/micro class. That class load = a lot of freshmen. How I ended up with all these at the same time, I guess I just didn't realize what my new class-switching would leave me with.

I have decided that being a senior is super weird. ESPECIALLY when there's all these youngsters in some classes I'm in (I feel ya metallica). It feels like just yesterday I was a frosh. Man, how the time does fly...
 
So apparently my roommate had a freshman class today and she went and sat down and two girls near her introduced themselves and asked for each others' numbers in case they missed class. Then one asked "OMG are y'all freshies, too?" My roommate responded "I'm a senior." And then they stopped talking to her.

Actually, I had one of the most boring dates EVER tonight. I love to talk, but this chick didn't stop... She asked me 2 questions which gave me about 3 minutes talk time... She had the rest of three hours!!! I tried to give her the clue when I stopped ordering drinks an hour and a half in, but then when I got back from the bathroom she ordered another one!!! This chick couldn't get enough of the sound of her own voice...

anyone seen district 9? I have a date tonight and we're seeing this movie...I don't deal well w/ "horror" or "scary" movies...I mean, action/thriller I'm ok -- Die Hard, Saving Private Ryan, ID4, no prob. Saw, Scream, Halloween, etc. I become a huge baby...

concernicus that I won't be able to handle this movie :scared:

I've heard it's really good. I just watched the trailer last night. It'd suggest watching the trailer. It looks like it'll be about as scary as Independence Day.

I haven't heard of it as a scary movie. Everyone says that it's amazing.. I really wanna see it!

haha yeah he's already seen it. And he was the one who suggested we see it tonight -- he really wanted to watch it a second time :laugh:

of course, my roommate took the mickey out of me when I talked to her about it last night -- she says that it MUST be a scary movie, and now he knows where the scary/jumpy parts are while I'm still in the dark 🙄 :meanie:
