Oooh, I hate the Cowboys too! Yay for Cowboys loss! I hate teams that feel entitled to be ordained as "America's Team" - Cowboys, Yankees, Notre Dame, USC, etc.

That's what makes sports great - having regional and hometown interests and that not everybody in the country roots for one team. That's what the Olympics are for.

I would like to point out that in 2 of the last 3 games Brady has finished, he has managed to lose a Super Bowl in which he was an overwhelming favorite to the lesser Manning brother, and lose to a rookie.

indeed, the only thing that could justify considering the cowboys "America's Team" are the cheerleaders, which for the record, I certainly do not hate. 😍

I don't know what you've been smoking but ND has ALWAYS been America's team in college football. They're the Yankee equivalent.

And okay, maybe USC is just ESPN's team. :laugh: Have you ever watched a full ABC/ESPN broadcast of a USC game with Herbstreit and Musberger calling it? It just turns into a "let's praise USC for beating an obviously inferior opponent like they should have and give them a share of the national championship when they lost at home to Stanford, the 41pt underdogs" kind of thing.

Media also has a love relationship with Florida, especially Tebow.
 
I don't think the Cowboys are "America's team" in as big a way as the Yankees are though. (Yes, I know it's their "official" nickname.)

In Houston, I was leaving my hotel to go drive somewhere, and I saw some pants on the ground by my car - and realized they were mine! They must have slipped off the hanger when I took them out of my car.
That was a close call. :scared:

I just bought a little travel toiletries thing at a Walgreens at my first interview with travel-sized toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving cream, disposable razor, etc. Then I didn't have to worry about having my stuff confiscated at the airport and whatnot (I didn't check any luggage).

No problem there; you can legally carry anything under 3 oz as long as it's in a 1 quart zip lock bag.
 
i think the season is near done for the eagles, maybe week 8-9, they can recoop from the injuries but we have around 6-9 big names out at the moment,

vick will be back next week just for the hell of it. kolb wasnt bad i guess and we also have jeff garcia

Ah . . . we are in the same boat! still waiting on that first one. I got nothing last week . . . but thats not all bad i guess. i still haven't gotten any news from Vandy or Tulane which is surprising given the amount of rejections going out from those schools. i hope no news is good news (although honestly i am beginning to think maybe my Vandy rejection has just gotten lost in the mail or something, as I was in the 8/4 batch of people confirmed!)

good luck to you, i hope we each get an interview this week! i'd be happy to take a rejection from one school to get an interview at another. let's see . . . i'd take an MCW rejection for a UIC invite!

and i just found out my new job is almost a 44% raise from my current job, except they're all taxable hours. but still, yay!

I vote everyone in this thread gets an interview this week. All in agreement?

Try forgetting one and not realizing til the last minute. I kept my jacket buttoned all day to try to hide it, but I'm sure someone noticed.

Hi all. Can I rant for a second?

I had an ok interview. I spent as much of my weekend as I could study while I was in DC. I was (miraculously) able to complete all the Spanish assignments and the two papers I had due today.

I found out literally this morning (the morning of my biochem test) that our teacher posted a Study guide. She didn't say this in class, nor did she send out an e-mail about this...and none of my "friends" in this class with me even mentioned this study guide until I received a text about it last night (while I was sleeping). This text only asked where it was located. They all knew I was out of town though.

Anyways, I'm not upset because I get up early enough to work on it before my classes. I get more than half way through within an hour because I'd basically been studying everything. I figure I'd have time during my break to finish the last 2/5ths and then I'd be able to review this guide between the rest of my classes.

Well, NOW is the break I'm supposed to use to finish the guide, and my computer doesn't want to turn on. The battery is full, the lights come on but no screen output at all.....and it won't even work when connected to a separate monitor. It's like, here I was freaking out about this test all weekend, and when I finally felt that I had an handle on everything.... Nope! Shot down.

Sorry, I just needed to rant. Anyone a computer wiz that can give me an idea of what's going on with my computer?

I'm off to (impossibly) re-do everything....again
 
That's awful Luun. Keep on doing the best you can though.
