Hi all. Can I rant for a second?

I had an ok interview. I spent as much of my weekend as I could study while I was in DC. I was (miraculously) able to complete all the Spanish assignments and the two papers I had due today.

I found out literally this morning (the morning of my biochem test) that our teacher posted a Study guide. She didn't say this in class, nor did she send out an e-mail about this...and none of my "friends" in this class with me even mentioned this study guide until I received a text about it last night (while I was sleeping). This text only asked where it was located. They all knew I was out of town though.

Anyways, I'm not upset because I get up early enough to work on it before my classes. I get more than half way through within an hour because I'd basically been studying everything. I figure I'd have time during my break to finish the last 2/5ths and then I'd be able to review this guide between the rest of my classes.

Well, NOW is the break I'm supposed to use to finish the guide, and my computer doesn't want to turn on. The battery is full, the lights come on but no screen output at all.....and it won't even work when connected to a separate monitor. It's like, here I was freaking out about this test all weekend, and when I finally felt that I had an handle on everything.... Nope! Shot down.

Sorry, I just needed to rant. Anyone a computer wiz that can give me an idea of what's going on with my computer?

Hopefully everything works out for you.

Honestly, that doesn't sound good at all. Sounds like video card/motherboard trouble. You can try unplugging the battery and plugging it back in after a few minutes, but it might be time for a new laptop. 👎 Did it get bounced around or something during your trip?

And this is probably a stupid question but how do you get un-taxable hours. I want some.

indeed. 🙂 and when i checked my mail today for rejections, i didn't have any, but what i did get was my whole $500 deposit back from the apartment i moved out of a mere three weeks ago 👍

In the airport in Charlotte, NC. Flight number 2 leaves in an hour. My good news of the day: I got the only 100 on my management test. Let's hope I can pull that off for my Abstract Algebra test on Wednesday too. Doubtful, but I'll try.
 
Well, looks like I am a little late to the game, just discovered SDN the other day. Wanted to wish y'all good luck this year, here's to makin' it happen!
 
This is sad. I have officially checked the status of every school about 20 times today (I exaggerate, but you get the point). No news except one complete at Emory. Sad day.

that why you shouldnt check status? I mean outside of drexel, temple, and a small minority of others every school sends emails about updates. I almost never check status for that reason 🙂

Wow, I have never heard of that before. Usually they charge at least $100 to do the carpets.

I hate that, I payed $45 so they could make my apartment smell like crap. I've just recently got most of their toxic carpet-cleaner smell out of my apartment.

Hardwood floors 🙂 Still though, there were various things I knew I could have done better on. I forgot to pull nails out of the wall and there was some green and orange glow paint spattered on the wall from a Halloween party. but i scrubbed the **** out of the kitchen floor, the fridge, etc. i also think the landlord felt bad for me, I had to ask him (in tears) to take my last month's rent out of the deposit because I couldn't afford it. (so technically it wasn't my whole deposit, it was my deposit minus a month of rent, but i didn't get charged for a single cleaning cost.)

and it got returned to me super fast. really good management . . . if anyone ends up going to rush/uic/loyola i can recommend a good rental company! 😀 and they are dog friendly. i'm really sad i had to move out actually. but it's nice to not be paying rent for the first time in forever.
 
Woot, test turned out ok. Thanks for the concern. I guess I was more prepared than I felt. Also, found out the my video card is probably fried. So, now I have to go out and get a new laptop. I'm thinking about just getting a netbook for now and using that w/ my external hard drive. I've been waiting to get a new laptop until Windows 7 comes out.... Congrats on all the interviews guys!
 
finally got that 10th invite (minny mstp, which im very excited about, their facilities look brolic)
 
I just won my week in fantasy football by 1.5 points, courtesy of Ricky Williams. LOL.

BTW, I think Peyton might be the best in the business.
