ive always thought peyton was the best...the way he runs a game and reads defenses is something that is a once and a generation type talent. People always say big ben and others are so great, when they arent. Ill give it to brady but others are not even close. Imagine if manning had a defense like pittsburgh, the past 8 years would probably be like 4 colts super bowls. Idk why but the colts just cant even get good on def. The one year the defense even stepped up to being barely above average they wont the super bowl. manning is the best hands down.
 
Interview at the Alma mater today. I wonder how many times it will come up in my interview...

Big ben is great. I'm not even a steelers fan but that guy is awesome.

And yea, the steelers defense is TERRIBLE. Was it the 2nd or 3rd quarter when th colts only ran 3 plays cause the defense couldn't get off the field. The facial expressions of the offensive players on the sideline was like "you cannot be serious right now". Pretty sad.

Morning y'all 🙂

This week has been fantastic thus far!!! Found out I might be spending my winter working in TX, only working 2 days in the office (telecommuting 2 days) this week, and I don't have to take a vacation day on Friday for my interview because my client bogged me down w/ work over the weekend!!!

loved georgetown, wake, and u of vermont, didn't quite love penn state as much but it was still pretty cool.

friend of mine made me watch dancing with the stars last night. tom delay was dancing. it was incredibly awkward
 
I wanted to do hand written notes but I'm having trouble finding some addresses and I don't want to risk not having them reach the right person. Are emails ok or too impersonal?

emails are fine too but i think cards are nicer...i just emailed the schools i interviewed at and asked for where to send, hopefully they can give u that info. If not then email is fine.

I emailed one and the other I snail mailed a letter cuz I could not find the email address for him.

yup. that's why i NEVER check. there was a while when i went ape$hit checking vermont's because i thought they lost my app or something... but those were extenuating circumstances. :laugh:

Gotta love my school. I get Yom Kippur off.
 
So, looks like my first official sacrifice of the app season is here. After some incident where I lost almost $100 in Columbus, followed by inclement weather causing me to get in Baton Rouge at 3am this morning, and getting a speeding ticket on the way :scared: (60 in a 45, boy I hope I can do something about this... I was so tired and it was about to turn 55)... I have decided to sell one of my guitars. 🙁

I wasn't looking good for money already by the end of the semester, but now with this ticket and the money loss, it looks hopeless or even negative. So one of my guitars must go.

But today I did officially get a previous moving violation off my record, I just need to figure out what to do about this one. 😕

wtf, i went to school in, and now work in, nyc (which has more jews than all of israel) and i have never gotten yom kippur off! no fair.

sooo much lab drama going on today. i'm here for two more weeks, and there is NO way I'm going to finish everything my PI wants in that time, for numerous reasons. One being that he wants me to run an experiment with an animal that we just plain don't have. Oh, and of 10 minutes ago I get to present my data tomorrow. all this after a science debate with my PI (who just dismisses anything he doesn't want to deal with) and a lab inspection. oi.

rough day for this thread, me thinks.
 
and my school (college, no way in **** my high school would) had the day off for yom kippur.

My plane leaves LGA at like 7:50 tomorrow night.

no nyc school gives yom kippur off, its ust the nature of the crazy diversity, i dont think i got off for elementary school either (or when i went to college)

Yeah, that's why I liked it too. I like how the day is compact and efficient, no waiting around or bunch of other BS. Interview, tour, lunch, feedback survey, done.

anyone else prefer morning interviews? idk, maybe its just me but ppl seem to be in better moods aroud 9-11 am

I hate waiting around at interview days. I feel like it's such a waste of time. I can't stand it when there's like 15 minutes between two back to back presentations or something like that.

I like morning interviews, cuz I feel all relaxed and resfreshed afterwards. After lunch, I feel sluggish.
 
my computer ships tomorrow... so im hoping it arrives on friday (its shipping from nyc... i could havejust picked it up today) it has a tv tuner and speakers so that will be great cuz my tv speakers have been broken (and my laptop sucks)
