hey everybody!

Hope all is well in interview and application land overall...

Just got back from one heck of a day:

1 am: leave from Western NY to NYC

8 am: get to Downstate

8:05 am: find out that I can't do anything at Downstate without "security clearance" 👎

9:30 am: meet peeps and interview

12:00 pm: tour campus 😕 (AFTER interview? strange)

2 pm: leave NYC

8 pm: arrive Western NY

Now: writing you and going to bed! So tired...

Oh, and Downstate has some good stuff going on. From what I can tell...

Not the most informative day really. Very strange.

But fun.

wow wicked intense! Congrats on being done! 😀

I'm finishing up my AF HPSP application -- turning it in to the recruiter this Thursday :scared:. I'm scared they won't like me as much as they did when I applied to USAFA/ROTC...

anyone else watching The Biggest Loser? Seems like they're much more nutrition focused this season...

EDIT: just received an email from Delta on their weekly fare specials -- for those of you who were lamenting the high ticket prices going to Cincinnati (sp?), there are flights for $69 each way leaving Washington Reagan. Not sure if that's helpful or not, but there it is 🙂

haha i love flights like that! my flight to winston salem had 6 people on it and the flight home was a big plane with maybe like 20% of it full-at one point we flew over nyc and the captain told us to all get up and all sit by the left side to get a great view of the city...i was glad we didn't tip the plane to the side with our weight lol:laugh:
 
I feel like I did nothing today. Slept in for once. Researched. Have been caught up on all my homework/readings.

This "free time" feels odd...
 
Nice! So my host for this upcoming Sunday misread the day that would be in town and now I don't have anywhere to stay. Kinda sucks because I cancelled a hotel reservation 2 weeks ago after the host was confirmed... :\

Pritzker was pretty awesome... I really don't want to drive down to St. Louis for my SLU interview next Monday, I'd have to reschedule an exam and miss another Biochem lecture. I sent them an e-mail asking for a reschedule, is it likely they'll let me? If not, I might cancel, which I hate to do without an acceptance in hand. Makes me nervous. 😳

I'm sure they'll accomodate. It's probably not a big deal to reschedule.

Haha, definitely. I'll tell them that they should promptly accept the next student using the code words "Blue Elmo." I'm sure they'll go along with it. 😉

Seriously though, I'm going to try to withdraw from/cancel interviews at schools I know I won't attend as soon as possible. Whatever I can do to help a brother out. 👍 😀
 
My first test of the semester is tomorrow... Spanish. It actually seems kind of late for a first test.
I really hope I get accepted on the 15th or 16th, because I'm blowing off this semester so much - unintentionally and med school related.

I have tests in Biochem and Developmental Bio coming up next week and I have never been less prepared. I just keep reminding myself that I just have to get through this year, it doesn't have to be pretty. 😛

Well, at least my tests aren't that complicated. But your view on class this year sounds about right.

after my duke interview next week i get to chill for 2 weeks before getting back on the road, looking forward to catching up with research during that time

haha im done with most of my lab work as of now

im writing 2 papers now and hoooping to get a patent. after that im out

nah. not gonna put in the money this late. i'll just focus on what i have. sucks though b/c i want to end up in the northwest when my career eventually starts. but i'd rather have gone to UW (my 2nd choice) than OHSU.

even worse that the only rejection i have thus far is UW. that was a crappy day. 🙁

I felt the exact same way when I got it. I don't want to spend the money this late, and I have absolutely no problem working with what I have. If I didn't have any interviews, sure I'd fill it out. But now, not so much. Thus, it is sitting in my inbox untouched.

i think i even deleted mine.
 
Just finished my test. I forgot my calculator so I had to do all the math by hand, so that sucked. But I did borrow a friend's at the end to double check everything. Then some dude passed out mid-test so we called 911 and such. It was crazy.

I just honestly think he's quite on the level where he can be the best player on a championship team. Maybe he can lead them to the playoffs and even win a series or two, but I don't think he's ever going to break into that "top 5-10 player in the league" level, which is something you need to win a title (think Kobe, Wade, LeBron, Howard, Duncan and Shaq back in their days...)

Guess we'll see 🙂
