Thanks for the advice. 🙂

I agree. I love my medium-sized city. I've never really lived in a large city (unless you count Vegas for 1 year?) so I don't have any personal opinions on it, but they seem way too hectic for me. :\

Are you looking to get out of NOLA, though? You applied a lot of other places, but are you just trying to find a different medium-sized city?

Not really. I like to think of myself as pretty adaptable. I definitely wouldn't be able to stay in a small rural town for four years, but anything that is from a Medium/Large town to Large city is where I decided to apply.

I do want to branch out and stay in a new place, but if I look at all my options I'd be willing to stay where I am if it's for the best.

EDIT: Then again, I just realized that I am contemplating doing a rural program to help with med school debt. So I guess I'm pretty much willing to try anything.

i dont think i could live in NYC. too expensive and i have a low tolerance for public transportation, i can only take the el in chicago like once a week or I feel ill.

I know i applied to some schools in big cities but ideally i'd like to live in a smaller town. it would be cool to get an invite to rochester. also my mom recently told me that her side of the family came from that area, which i didn't know. so its like i have a little tiny connection to there!

yeah in both of my interviews so far, I got the big city feel and the small town feel. I surprisingly liked the small town one better as a medical school environment. maybe if it were undergrad it'd be a different story

TWINS/YANKEES TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!

i am thrilled.

this was a CRAZY game. wow.

wooo go yanks!!!😀

that game was crazy-i wanted it to go as long as possibly so whichever team we faced would run out of pitching for tomorrow haha. I think it'll be better for us to face the twins...i mean they're 0-7 against us so far so hopefully they wont figure out a way to beat us now!!

Yankees fans are meant to be shunned. 😡

i would just like to say that NYC can be 100% affordable. you just have to find a neighborhood with housing in your price range (TOTALLY doable; i used to live in a great 'hood like that, and consciously chose to move somewhere more expensive in august for a variety of personal reasons). in terms of food/entertainment/etc, i would argue that NYC is MORE affordable than many other places (especially the 'burbs) because there's so much amazing free stuff going on, and if you're not too wussy to explore different (non-swanky) parts of the city, you can eat out and go grocery shopping for very little money. also, taking walks and window shopping is my favorite form of city entertainment, and that's always free.

Baseball is boring anyways, It's all about football and basketball.

So just got my cable, energy and water bills today.

I moved to this place because my roommate wanted more space. The rent is $80 cheaper, but I can't walk to school anymore, no visitor parking, and these bills. I only had to pay energy at the last place. So, in the end, totally not worth it. Regrets...

Yeah I can't watch baseball. Way too slow and long.

I like European Soccer best, then football/basketball/hockey.

I certainly can not watch NASCAR. Who wants to watch cars go in a circle for hours.

Your smiley is saaad.

I ended up moving this year too. The rent is about $95 cheaper, but before I lived alone and only had to pay electricity. Now, I have a roommate and water, cable, electricity, and pest control bills. I am now closer to campus, but overall, not sure that the move was worth it.

Driving back from Nashville through Alabama, searching for a national college football broadcast, I found NASCAR on the radio - on 2 stations!!! Talk about pointless.

and.... we HAVE A CRASH! YES!

Three car collision, OMG, fire has just started! YES!

Never understood the appeal of NASCAR... it's always seemed boring to me. Not too many things that can happen...

I always tell people to not even get me started on NASCAR...

I will mention that it is an extreme contributor to global warming - think of how much unnecessary gas those cars/trucks in the series use!

You know, I have never even thought about that! I wonder how much gasoline they have to use in a year and how that compares to the average American consumption.

im guessing it's an itouch or iphone...they have internet. I post from my phone during the day when i don't have access to my computer.

not nice!!! i dont think i would have thought to call you a poopface myself, but i think i'll have to back dw up on this one😛

I'm gonna have to see if we can get "poopface" added to the list of censored words. As you can see, it really took me aback if I'm just now getting back to posting...

Golf also has to be up there with NASCAR.

Golf, in the last round, is interesting because the players in contention usually have a good story surrounding them.

I thought I'd share this song/music video with you guys, it works like a charm for me, I absolutely cannot be stressed out while I am watching it. Hopefully you like it too. 🙂

Crank your speakers up if possible, or use headphones if not.

😡😡😡😡

Today this happened?

Yeah, financing for 17 interviews just isn't going to happen. For now I'm only withdrawing from one or two that I know I probably will not go to. (Now that I've seen the schools I've been to already...)

😱 Congrats!

So minnesota won. Poor detroit, always out of luck.

That was an excellent game. What a run by the twins, and they did it without morneau. Cannot wait for post-season action tomorrow.

UCLA is absolutely killer. For sure my #1 choice at this point. Campus and surrounding area are beautiful, med school facilities are nice and all the technology is there, and they're really proud of their ronald reagan med center, which apparently is ranked 3rd in the country (with good reason, from what I could tell).
