Mmm that sounds de-lish. You should teach dingy how to cook. Can't say you'll be too successful with him though.
 
the mstp started late june, md started monday. my research rotation actually introduced me to a ****load of ppl and the area, so that was cool. but this state is extremely homogeneous

I could see that. I was supposed to go up there to visit some of my fiancee's family, but it didn't go through. I wasn't paying for a plane ticket for that, they would have had to pay for me. :laugh:
 
yea i actually enjoy my lab a lot more than this whole other thing, which kinda says something. also, you can also tell who the gunners are. i have people in my class, who somehow figured out the whole anatomy table organization thing their first minute and had their white coats immediately. good thing is that if you are around them, you get **** done in your free time
 
yea man, people from the dakotas are as exotic as it gets here. i can only ask them if fargo was realistic so many times
 
i apparently spent $3000 in the last 6 weeks (i didnt move furniture/bought new ones, 1 speeding ticket, 1 parking ticket, 3 months rent + deposit, but where the **** did the rest go)
 
i spent $240 in books so far. probably gonna total to $300-$400 for the year. which isnt too bad. its mostly course packets + practice exams + netters + board reviews (since a lot of our questions are taken from there)

Yeah, I just need to go find a good recipe. I've made some good ones with a mix and some imitation crabmeat, because real crab meat is expensive. Soon I'll splurge and buy real crabmeat, and if I can find dungeness then that's probably the only thing I'll ever eat again.

im having a hard time buying furniture from craigslist for 2 reasons

1. i've already heard like 4 or 5 people (out of the few that i know) and some others about bed bug problems. since those things are harder to get rid of, i feel like if i can find relatively cheap new furniture, the cost difference is well worth it
2. moving that **** is annoying + costs more than i expected it would
 
So I have a 5 day primary care preceptorship (general surgery, OB/GYN, family med, internal med, peds) at the beginning of the spring semester. I need to find a doctor. I don't have a doctor or anything, so any suggestions on how to find one?

I was thinking of talking to my old dermatologist who is good friends with my rich aunt and uncle and seeing if he knows anyone. He was always interested in me attending LSU and was very happy when I decided to go there, so maybe he knows a general surgeon to talk to. Thoughts?
 
yea i would talk to him. also 2nd years and 3rd years are your best bet. make a little big of effort in the beginning and you are set. most people in med school are pretty friendly
 
also, the best way to increase your med school performance (or any other performance internet, sexual, etc), is to get rich parents. if you have rich parents, you are set. if not, you are gonna have to work on getting some rich ones

that **** where they can give you tickets by "eyeballing" your speed in some states is weak sauce. If that ever happens to me I'm calling every lawyer I know.

The derm guy sounds like a good place to start. If all else fails I would hope your school would be able to hook you up with one.

Thanks, guys. I'll start with the derm guy and if he only knows fancy-pants doctors I'll ask some M2s.
 
once you start though, people are gonna bombard you w/ offers to work w/ them or someone they know. like the facilitators @ PBL sessions are always like if you are interested in stroke research, i can hook you up w/ this and that, or if you are interested in y research i can refer you to whoever.

That's cool. Hopefully I can use that kind of stuff to find something to do next summer. I won't have the time to do any formal research program thing so I'll have to either do nothing or figure out something by myself.
 
people are really flexible. prof are looking for students to help them with lit reviews for review papers and stuff and thats a bit less strenuous on your sched
 
yoda, hold on to pfizer at current price or sell @ current price. i bought it maybe 8 weeks ago at 15.00 - 15.20 (cant remember off the top)? its at 16.38 ish after really slugging at 14s, + i received dividends already

I don't follow pharma/biotech very closely but: short term I wouldn't be surprised to see it to pull back some largely due to wider market choppiness. Although it's hard to say with them beating earnings, could go either way.
 
I'm actually just trying to finish season 2 of Mad Men this week, so I can move onto season 3 and then get on track with the current season, so no deep thinking for me, just mindless staring at my laptop.
 
I was taking something out of the oven and I burnt my left pinky. 🙁 I knew using my bare hands to fish food out of the toaster oven would catch up to me.
