Yay, Spanish homework is done. I feel like I'm in high school again with all of this nightly homework, participation grades, and required reading (as in not a textbook).
The last year my classes have been mainly graded based on 3 tests and a final - not this semester. Of course, the one semester I have the potential to miss a lot of class. :laugh:

thanks but i'm focused on vandy, and then the next and the next - i doubt ill get in to too many places

in the end, we all will (hopefully) end up with one that we enjoy attending

oooo Jolt, I just noticed that you're in school up there now, how's the lebanon airport? would you suggest trying to fly in there? Is there transportation other than rent-cars from burlington or manchester?

if you're coming from NY or something, def do the drive. i've done it in 3 hours and 45 min (speeding my ass off), but avg is 4.5 hours. after you get past the worst state to drive through EVER (CT), it becomes nice. once you hit VT, its gorgeous. just take 95 -> 91 and go all the way up to dmouth.

lebanon airport is so expensive. not worth it unless you have $$$ like that, then its convenient as heck.

MHT- great airport. never busy. the vermont transit bus goes from there to right on campus.

👍 I'd like to drive, but it may be a waste of time. It's about 10.5 hrs for me, so I'm trying to avoid it.

then MHT is your best bet. they have southwest and united. both cheap airlines.

The Beanpot is a hockey tournament between BU, BC, Northeastern, and Harvard that's played every february at the fleet center (TD Banknorth?) -- where the bruins play. the name changes every few years

no. actually, northeastern is historically the biggest loser on the men's side

BC men were actually the NCAA champs in 08 -- they're perennially pretty good. BU men won in 09.

On the women's side (which I know no one typically cares about, but I've got a lot of friends who played on the team), the Huskies have the most wins, but not by much:

Huskies: 14
Harvard: 12
BC: 3
BU: 1

Harvard had an AMAZING team in 08 when they went to the Frozen Four in Duluth. Last year was kind of a letdown, and I have NO idea how they're looking to be this year.


EDIT: Sucks to BU is the chant that most folks yell when they play BU. BC says something like God's on our side, and Harvard doesn't yell anything because none of the students ever go...

Easily the best hockey game I've ever seen or will ever see. I was in DC during the game, and I was about a block from where it was being played. I had to watch it on TV though 🙁

So the research associate at my lab just told me that the professors thinks they might not have room for me this semester. 🙁
I've been there for a year and was one of only two students last fall, now they have 4. The professor also wrote me a rec letter, and my pay doesn't even come out of the lab's budget (personal scholarship account)! I need to go talk to him soon, because I need my $$$ and I have seniority, dammit!

I am so jealous of all you people with interviews . . . i have to keep reminding myself that you guys submitted your AMCAS back at the beginning of June, I wasn't even complete anywhere until the beginning of this month. i gotta take a deep breath . . .

although i especially loved Jolt's comment about his first interview this week . . . seriously i see why you don't post your stats on MDApps. everyone would probably just hate you for how insane they must be.

mine isn't this week...i was actually talking about ksmi, and anyone else interviewing so early.

my first one is 9/16. my first complete was 8/11.

and dont worry about stats. i can say with personal experience, i think they aren't even half the battle. mine are nothing to gawk over. PS, LOR's, secondary essays, EC's. i think everything holds weight.

with ure mcat they are bound to come in soon im sure. Your gpa isnt even bad 🙂. Next month you will probably be like jolt with 10 interviews haha 😛
 
I hope I get another interview soon. I received one in the beginning of july, nothing since though... only takes one though

plus, when you apply to 25 schools like me, things come really fast. no state school to fall back on.
