Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
God, there have been so many damn DO threads over the last couple of days. It's really getting annoying.

Those threads are the reason I only post here and a few school threads 😛. There are so many ridiculous threads posted it makes me lose faith in my future classmates

I know, right? I give thanks for not actually knowing who some of these people are and confirming that they could attend the same school as me.

Mmmm, Flamin Hot Cheetos.

So this Sunday I have to work, what's a good excuse to call in I'm not missing football. Or should I jus go with football is more important to me then ure pos job😛

you can just say you are sick. be careful, dont get caught or rub people the wrong way - most employers can terminate your contract within the first 6 weeks to 6 months (depends) of your job without any reason or severance

Indeed 👍 Sadly, none of my friends have done the open bar thing yet... which is probably good because I would hate to never speak to them again after I embarrassed them at their wedding

That's cuz it's $$$$. The longer you wait to get married, the better your wedding can be.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if a repeat troll is at work with some of these.
If you see anything like that, feel free to report it. We'll check it out.

And the better your presents can be.

I think you get the open bar or no bar. Kind of inconsiderate to guests if they have to pay for drinks at your wedding.
Meh, I don't see any problem with giving them the option of paying for their drinks; it's not like you're making them buy them.
Kansas St just upset #1 Texas in men's b-ball. Well, kind of - K-State was ranked #9 and at home, so it wasn't a huge upset.
Balls.

Yeah I feel like an open bar is fairly important. It just screams cheap if you don't have one. And I looked it up, and it's not as expensive as I thought. Somewhere between $25-$50 per person.

That's not that bad. Unless you have like 200 people at your wedding. 😱

Of course, if you have the balls to invite that many people you sure as hell better be able to pay for an open bar.

 If you're poor and just out of college (or heaven forbid actually in med school), you can be cheap on account of actually being poor, IMO 😛

Now what DOES suck is deciding you want a big, extravagant wedding and inviting all of your friends... and THEN realizing that you are poor and can't afford something like that and wind up uninviting people :lame: Yes I have seen this.

I wish I could slap that ****er themsenman or whatever his name is. The most annoying dude ever in SDN.

Yeah. Even if you invite like 75-100 people that's only ~2500-5000. Although I don't know how much the rest of the stuff is.

I feel like a good compromise is doing open bar but only beer and wine.

how much do engagement rings cost

How big does the rock have to be? That's the question. Like 1000 for a really, really tiny diamond, 2500 for a small but visible one, and like 5000+ for a biggish one.

I think a better strategy is to get a setting that holds like 2 small diamonds and one sort of mediumish one. Then it looks bigger and has the same amount of shiny stuff, but is cheaper than buying 1 big stone.

Carat is only 1 of the 4 C's. A brighter, better diamond will look better compared to a bigger, duller one.

Also consider the size of the girl's hands, a big one might be impractical and weigh her hand down.

True. I think the standard most people won't go below is J for color and VS2 for clarity. That was what I was taking into account, at least.

I don't even know what any of this means except carat:laugh:. I'm staying single.

VS2! That's some seriousness right thurr.

I've heard that the clarity is more important depending on the cut - as in Princess, Emerald and Asscher have long faces so it's easier to see the imperfections that do exist.

Okay, I'm done now.

Dropping in again...

Yeah, but it's impressive for a guy!

Actually...I know of 5 C's: cut, clarity, carat, color, and most importantly, cost.

Interesting, good to know.

Yeah now that I think about it Sl1 would probably be OK.

I think some women purposely try to get the most expensive ring out of their future husbands as possible, because just in case something happens (ie, divorce), they still got the big ol' rock as their own. Just putting that out there for you guys...

is that an empty bottle of miracle whip, cuz someone seems to be fully whipped. terrible joke

And this is the guy who desperately needed a job to avoid living in a cardboard box?
ahah well this job is part time and i make minimum wage so idc. By not working i lose 25 dollars that day. Though i do see your point lol...but w/e ill go 25 dollars more in debt to watch those games:laugh:

Technically, if the divorce is her idea (or because of something she did), she should give it back.
